glazing. Edgetech’s Managing
Director Chris Alderson
identified the abilities of
Charlotte Davies and Karl Jones
and gave them the good news of
their new positions at The FIT
Show.
Charlotte and Karl have 19
years of service between them.
Karl becomes Technical Services
Manager. “This is an important
role within Edgetech,” says
Chris. “Our technical team
has a high level of glass unit
manufacturing know-how
which is well appreciated by
customers. Technical Services
Manager is a newly created role,
and Karl’s knowledge of our
products and manufacturing
makes him the ideal person
to head up the team to give
practical production support to
customers.”
Charlotte becomes Head
of Marketing. A well-known
marketer in the industry, she
has been at Edgetech since
she was 18. Chris continues:
“Charlotte has been the driving
force behind many of our recent
campaigns to make Edgetech
the leading voice for energy
efficient glazing. The latest
demonstration of her ability was
Edgetech’s success at the FIT
Show. I am looking forward
to seeing her build on and
strengthen the Edgetech brand
values in her new position.

After nearly 14 years working in a
variety of roles, the latest being Managing
Director, Giles Willson has decided to
leave the Glass and Glazing Federation
(GGF). This decision has not been taken
lightly especially after the high profile
role Giles has undertaken within the
Fenestration Industry over this period.
»»GILES STATED: “I HAVE
really enjoyed the 14 years
working with the GGF
membership, there have never
been two days the same with
unlimited challenges posed
by the members. I have also
been privileged to represent the
membership and industry with
Government Ministers, MPs and
other government officials as well
as chair the British Standards
committee for windows and
doors. I will miss the Members
and my colleagues but, I know
this is the right time to move
on.”

chief Executive stated: “I have
enjoyed working with Giles
over the last 14 years which has
seen considerable change to the
industry and the GGF. Giles has
been a major contributor to a lot
of these changes and he will be
missed from the GGF team. We

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN THE SOUTH WEST

Systems has strengthened its
team in the South West of
England with the appointment
of Sheila Normington as Business
Development Manager. Her
responsibilities include the
Swish and Spectus brands and
Profile 22, including the recently
launched Optima.
Having worked in the building
products sector for more than 17
years with the majority of that
time spent in window systems,
Sheila understands the window,
door and conservatory industry
thoroughly, including the issues
that fabricators and installers
face.
Sheila has extensive experience
of developing sales through
fabricators by working with
them to develop their businesses,
including the increase of sales
through the development of
installer channels. Her thorough
knowledge of the market from
both a B2B and B2C perspective
also contributes towards increased
sales at every level.
Instrumental in the development
and introduction of a successful
Authorised Applicator scheme
Sheila has also worked with
customers during the introduction
of a new window system, offering
ideal experience working with
customers of Profile 22 Optima.
