New Parallel Opening
»»Leading hardware
manufacturer Cotswold
Architectural Products has been
working with the industry’s
prominent systems companies
and fabricators, to bring to
market a new dedicated solution
for POV (parallel opening vents)
on PVCu windows.
Following extensive research,
development and testing, the
team at Cotswold have rolled out
the ‘Sinidex’ parallel stay that will
fit into existing PVCu profiles
with a 17mm cavity.
Alan Hartley, who is Business
Development Manager at
Cotswold, has been heading up
the design and launch of the
product.
He comments: “The
opportunities this new product
presents for our customers are
wide-ranging. It’s an exciting new

opportunity for PVCu fabricators
because it presents a new way
of opening windows. It also
provides great design flexibility
and improved natural ventilation,
with greater air flow around the
full perimeter of the window.
“Ultimately this is an ideal
application for high-end
residential, domestic and
commercial applications. The
product allows for easy manual
operation and is perfect for
mechanical or automatic
opening and therefore provide
a performance level which
represents the future.”
One sector the product will
benefit is the conservatory
market, as it will now allow for
a full height parallel window
opening, providing improved
natural ventilation and therefore
more internal comfort for the
homeowner.
Parallel opening vents are also
a safer option to large top hung
windows, as they project much
less into the garden area and
significantly reduce the potential
for young children running into
the vent of the open window.
Tim Ferkin, who is Sales
and Marketing Director at
Cotswold, comments: “This latest
product launch demonstrates
Cotswold’s commitment to
product innovation and creating
market opportunities for our
customers.”
