DOORS&WINDOWS
Star of the Show
Apeer, the leading edge manufacturer of composite door sets,
has entered the window market with a groundbreaking new,
structurally bonded window and door glazing system.
»»The radically
styled Lumi collection was
unveiled at Grand Designs, ExCeL,
London exhibition on May 2 – 10.
A unique frameless structure for
windows, doors, entrance glazing,

“Entering the glazing market
was a natural next step for us,”
explains Asa McGillian, md of
Apeer, “We have an in depth
knowledge of the sector and
producing a fibre glass window

progression for our business. “
Asa has been the driving force
behind the company’s innovative

Lumi itself has been in
development for more than twoand-a-half years and represents
an investment of nearly a million
pounds for the company.
Asa continues: “I knew that
if we were going to enter the

Asa McGillian continues:
“What we have done is apply our
leading edge technology skills
to the window sector to offer
homeowners an exciting new
alternative to PVCu, hardwood,
timber-aluminium composites
and powder coated aluminium
options.”
“The reaction from the public
at Grand Designs was simply
phenomenal, with the level of
interest being equally as incredible
– people immediately recognised
that what we were showing was
different to anything else out
there. It seems to us the industry
has been waiting for something
different to get excited.”
“One visitor to the stand was
determined to be the first person
in Britain to have Lumi windows
fitted while another has cancelled
the windows system she had
planned t o use in a new build
house in favour of our system.
“Although this was a consumer
show, we also saw a number of
trade visitors who came along to
take a look at what we were doing
