INDUSTRYNEWS New Corporate Identity Unveiled »»Smart Architectural Aluminium has unveiled a new corporate identity. The new design is an evolution of the company’s established style, with the familiar red and blue colour palette and the essential elements of the design still very much in evidence. As part of the update, a graphic device - the Smart Spark - becomes an integral part of the new identity, adding a distinctive and completely individual element. The Spark has been drawn from a stylised representation of four aluminium billets and will not only be used with the company logo, but also as a distinguishing mark on Smart’s range of fittings and accessories. The company’s Marketing Officer, Dan Evans explains: “Whilst there was a great deal of recognition and good will associated with our existing identity, we felt it was time to make some small changes. Without losing any of the elements that make it so familiar, we’ve made some subtle changes to the design to bring it completely up to date and to broaden areas where it can be used. We will gradually introduce the Smart Spark as a way of branding some of the components in our range.” www.smartsystems.co.uk Let the Sun Shine In »»VEKA Approved Installer, Atlas Windows and Doors has proudly unveiled an updated and expanded showroom at its Grovewood House premises in Wickford, Essex. Atlas’ Director, Stuart Campbell explains: “The new showroom is primarily aimed at our domestic customers, allowing us to showcase the huge variety of home improvements that we offer. “Sun rooms are particularly popular at the moment so we’ve highlighted the numerous styles available. Visitors can see, for example, how a lantern roof can complement a conservatory or orangery as well as providing a striking yet practical addition to an existing flat-roofed extension. “We’re proud to provide state-of-the-art PVCu window and door systems from The VEKA UK Group and now our customers can view the full range – from casement to tilt and turn windows and bi-folding doors. “As well as domestic customers, trade clients have the opportunity to see, first-hand, the solutions that will best fit their projects alongside the other products we have available to complement them. “We’ve already seen an upturn in business since the new showroom opened its doors and eagerly look forward to more customers, both old and new, paying us a visit.” www.vekauk.com Creating The Perfect Look One of Lancashire’s most imposing Georgian squares is a step nearer to returning to its former elegance with more than 100 Glazerite vertical sliders. »»Once a smart residential area, the square is now a commercial and legal centre as well has the home of lively bars and restaurants and a number of prestigious apartment blocks. Altogether, 113 VEKA-based VSs from Glazerite Windows Ltd were installed into the apartments of one of the most prominent properties by Preston installer Coupe Windows. 12 » JUN 2015 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M A simple style was chosen to match the uncluttered architecture of the building, with the VS’s two sashes giving large expanses of glass when combined with the frame system’s slim sightlines. The windows were designed without sash horns to continue the clean lines of the overall styling. Glazerite Director Jason Thompson said: “This installation is a superb looking job, giving residents all the benefits of warmth and energy efficiency, as well as enhanced security and ease of use, but still all the characteristic style that is so important to the prestige and attraction of the area.” www.glazerit ewindows.co.uk
