Structure change for growing
outdoor living market
» » WITH THE CONTINUED GROWTH
of the outdoor living market and growing
range of aluminium verandas, canopies and
carports, G18 Award finalists Milwood Group
has confirmed two key changes to their
management structure.
The Kent-based specialist is pleased to
announce that Operations Manager, Kevin
Horne has been promoted to the role of
Managing Director, while company founder,
Mark Wood will now focus all of his attention
on Ali-deck, Milwood’s new ground-breaking
aluminium decking system.
Milwood Group is also pleased to
announce that Daniel Royston has accepted
the now-vacant role of Operations Manager.
In just over a year, Daniel’s insights into
manufacturing, distribution and stock
management have helped the firm run more
efficiently. In his new role, Daniel will be
tasked with bringing that same dynamic
approach to ops.
Mark Wood commented: “This structure
change not only safeguards the future of
Milwood Group, but ensures that trade
partners continue to receive the first-class
service that has helped us become one of
the UK’s leading outdoor living specialists.
On behalf of the whole team, I want to
congratulate both Kevin and Daniel on their
new roles.”

New Tech Support Manager is IN
» » INDEPENDENT NETWORK HAS
long been committed to providing all the
practical and business guidance that members
could possibly need, and introducing Paul
Stevens as Technical Support Manager is a
continuation of this industry-leading support
offering.
Paul has been involved in the window and
door industry for 25 years, ever since completing
his apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery
- where he was proud to work on prestigious
buildings such as the original Wembley Stadium.
He moved into the PVCu sector as an installer
and believes that understanding the fitting
process and the challenges that installer members
face will be an advantage in his role at IN, having
experienced these ups and downs for himself.
Paul says: “During my career so far, I’ve
worked as an installer alongside small, local
fabricators as well as having built relationships
with some of the big UK market leaders. And,
in the relatively short time I’ve been working
for Independent Network I have already seen
the benefits it brings to members, and I am
looking forward to playing my part in its
ongoing success.”

Paul raised over £200 individually and
donations are still coming in, but the annual
event will raise thousands collectively, an
event which was originally organised in
honour of the late Fred Whitton who was a
great advocate for cycle sport in Cumbria and
North Lancashire.
Paul says, “The crowds of supporters on
the route were amazing and really spurred
me onEven little messages people had written
on the road like “dig deep” “nearly there”
and finally “well done”. It was an amazing
experience and sense of achievement.”
