FIT certified success window
& door testing company
Clearview caught up with Wintech Testing & Certfication following a very
successful FIT Show that produced a record number of leads, engagement
with new and existing customers, and a target audience of…everyone
WHO WENT TO FIT FROM WINTECH?
Wintech’s Director, Steve
Bramhill; Admin Assistant,
Summer Yates; Marketing
Assistant, Charlotte Cooper;
Window & Door Lab manager,
Dave Potts; and Associate
Director of Certification, Mark
Swanborough.
WHAT WAS YOUR PRIMARY
AIM FOR THE SHOW/WHY?
The FIT Show was like a
branding exercise for Wintech.
We are already well-known
throughout the industry
for testing, so the NEC this
May was a great place for
us to promote our WinMark
certification schemes alongside
our testing services.
WHO WERE YOU HOPING
TO SEE/WHY?
Everyone at the FIT show
was our target audience. We
wanted to engage with current
customers as well as with
companies we’ve not worked
with before, and we did a good
job of achieving that.
WERE THERE ANY SPECIFIC
THINGS THAT SHOCKED/
SURPRISED YOU?
The decision to make it an
annual event! Our customers
are often in the R&D phase
of their products for several
months before they go to
market. This year’s FIT Show
was full of big product releases,
it’s a big ask to do it all again in
less than a year.
‘We had good
feedback about
our stand’
HOW WAS THE WINTECH
STAND RECEIVED? WHAT
TYPE OF FEEDBACK DID YOU
GET FROM VISITORS?
It was well received. We had
a window from our customer,
SkyGlaze which had been
PAS 24 tested, which drew a
lot of attention. We had good
feedback about our stand and
our presence at the show in
general.
WHAT’S NEXT…
HAD PEOPLE ALREADY PLANNED
TO COME TO YOUR STAND BEFORE
THE SHOW - AND WHY? WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON AT
THE MOMENT AT WINTECH IN
THE NEXT 3/6/12 MONTHS?
We had refined our marketing
strategy in the run up to the
show, so our stand was quite
busy. Some meetings had been
booked prior to the show but
we had several opportunistic
visits to the stand as well. We’ve recently been UKAS-
accredited for new WinMark
Certification Schemes for the
Window & Door industry. The
WinMark Certification Schemes
for the General Performance of
Windows and Doors has been
introduced as an entry level
certification scheme, covering
windows and doors produced
using Timber, Aluminium, PVC
and Composite Materials to
British Standards.
DID THE EVENT ACHIEVE
WHAT YOU HOPED IT
WOULD FOR WINTECH?
Yes, we received a record
number of leads.
HOW DID IT COMPARE TO
OTHER EVENTS/SHOWS?
It’s smaller compared to other
similar shows in Europe, but for
the UK it’s the right size.
