PROUD WINNERS OF THE MANUFACTURING
AND INNOVATION AWARD
» » CAMDEN WINDOWS AND
Doors has been crowned with the
‘Manufacturing and Innovation
Award’, at the Made in Northern
Ireland Awards 2019.
The awards recognise
and reward manufacturing
companies based in Northern
Ireland that have demonstrated
success in innovation, product
development and growth in
either domestic or overseas
markets.
The judges commented:
“Camden’s Inliten profile system
has been singled out for innovation
in its sustainable manufacturing
processes. They were impressed
with the idea of remaking waste
material into other products for
sale which has created revenue
for the company and also for the
company’s commitment to the
environment and recycling.”
Roy Harrison, Camden
Group Sales Manager, said:
“Everyone at Camden Group is
incredibly proud of this award as
it represents a lot of hard work,
creativity and commitment to
the business. Camden Group
is continually innovating,
designing and developing even
better-quality products for our
customers. We never stand still,
so it’s onwards and upwards to
growing the business further and
providing more employment
opportunities in the area.”

Where There’s Hope
» » JUNE SAW A GROUP OF 18 MEN
from the industry cycle through 12 countries
in 10 days for ‘From Russia with Hope’.
Brisant Secure, the security hardware
company, is the event sponsor. With this and
all riders covering their own costs every bit of
sponsorship goes to Hope House Hospice to
help kids with life limiting illnesses and their
families live their lives to the fullest extent.
Last June Brisant attended the GM
Fundraising gala dinner and had the
pleasure of meeting Gary Morton from GM
Fundraising and the team from Hope House
Hospice. Arthur’s dad told the room about his
son’s body being taken to the Snowflake Suite,
a temperature-controlled bedroom with its
own private lounge and garden.
Steve and Nick, the owners of Brisant
Secure, were so moved by Arthur and his
parent’s story, that they wanted to get more
involved. A trip up to Hope House Hospice
was arranged so they could see the work of the
hospice, helping children with life limiting
conditions; where they decided that Brisant
Secure should be the event sponsor for the
bike ride.

HEALTH AND SAFETY: NEW CODE
OF PRACTICE LAUNCHED
» » THE GLASS AND
Glazing Federation (GGF) is
pleased to announce the launch
of the newly-revised Code of
Practice for the Safe Handling,
Transportation and Site Storage
of Glass.
The revision was instigated
following concerns raised at the
increasing number of incidents
where improper handling of
glass resulted in deaths or serious
injuries.
The guide was reviewed by a
panel of safety experts drawn from
the GGF, Council for Aluminium
in Building and representatives
from major contractors/building
companies. This panel concluded
that the effectiveness of safety
controls can be enhanced by good
communication, something sadly
missing in a number of serious
incidents.
The revised guide makes clear
