new project
manager

Federation (GGF) is delighted to announce
the appointment of Maruf Ahmad as the
Group Project Manager for all commercial
companies within the group.
In 2010, Maruf graduated from Queen
Mary University of London achieving a BSc
in Information Communications Technology
in the Business Environment, then started
his first role as a Project Support Officer
at Lloyd’s Register and developed his
project management skills extensively.
With a positive and driven attitude,
Maruf has gained valuable experience
delivering strategic business change
projects, data migration, procurement
implementations, property moves and
business improvements utilising Lean Six
Sigma methodologies.
On taking up his new role Maruf said,
“It seems like a really exciting time to be
here, as there is a lot of positive change
happening within the business. There are
many good ideas and business needs that
require being structured and prioritised
correctly and I’m looking forward to
delivering various projects.”
The tech-savvy individual is very much
skilled in risk management, planning,
communicating with key stakeholders at
all levels of the organisation and man aging
virtual project teams. He is passionate
about learning and obtaining further
qualifications within his field.

has assumed office as President of the
Institution of Mechanical Engineers; setting
out an exciting vision;
“Our profession is in the process of radical
change that is challenging, not just people’s
perspective on engineering, but also the way
it has operated for the past 170 years. Society
will call upon engineers to solve the challenges
the world is now facing: an exponentially
increasing population, how we will feed
ourselves, and climate change. As President,
I hope to create an environment where talent
can come together to address these multi-
dimensional issues.”
Geoff started his career serving a 5-year
Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship with
the British Aircraft Corporatio, graduating
with a Master’s Degree in Mechanical
Engineering, and has been an active member
of the Institution since his early career. With
global business experience from Europe,
America, the Middle East, Malaysia and
Australia, Geoff has co-founded two successful
engineering companies; the ATL Group, a
leading technical services company in the
industrial, defence, oil and gas markets which
was sold to Bureau Veritas, and Plant Asset
Management Ltd, which was subsequently
acquired by FTSE oil services company,
Petrofac. Geoff retained senior executive
positions following both acquisitions.
NEW BDM FOR THE MIDLANDS

Thomas as business development manager for
the Midlands.
With over 30 years in the door and
architectural ironmongery industry, Rob has
extensive experience in dealing with steel,
timber and aluminium door sets. Starting in
1988 with architectural ironmongers Parker,
Winder and Achurch, Rob has gone on to
work for a wide range of door manufacturers
and door hardware suppliers.
Rob said: “After working in this industry
for so many years, I’m excited to have the
opportunity to provide a far better quality
of product and service to our customers and
ultimately the people who work, live, play and
shop within the as-built environments we help
create and sustain.
“HOPPE is market leader in the field
of door and window hardware and it’s a
pleasure to be working with such experienced
ironmongery experts.”
Rob also completed his Guild of
Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) Diploma
and is currently working towards becoming a
Registered Architectural Ironmonger (RegAI).
As a fully qualified DipGAI, Rob can help
HOPPE (UK) customers choose the right
products for their projects. He can also give
them technical advice and make sure the
project meets the relevant standards and
regulations.
