Bringing together all aspects of
the home improvement industry

Institute of Building (CIOB) is
the latest organisation to join the
National Home Improvement
Council (NHIC) and add its
voice to shape the direction
of the leading membership
organisation in the home
renovation sector.
Eddie Tuttle, CIOB Principal
Policy and Public Affairs Manager,
will sit on the steering group of
the NHIC, which for more than
40 years has maintained a close
liaison with Government, local
authorities, housing associations,
private householders and
landlords as well as other trade
bodies, product manufacturers
and service providers.
As the UK suffers the legacy
of Europe’s oldest and least
thermally efficient housing stock,
the NHIC provides an important
source of impartial advice and
information on all manner of
home improvements and how to
ensure they are made safely, with
improving living standards as the
key objective.
With climate change and energy
prices at the forefront of many
people’s minds, CIOB is bringing
its own influence and links to
the construction management
profession and will play a key part in
NHIC’s retrofit and refurbishment
engagement strategies.
Eddie said: “I look forward to
bringing experience to the NHIC
and contributing to its consumer
focus. CIOB is influencing
the big debates happening in
government by promoting
the value and importance of
construction as a whole and we
can bring that expertise to the
home improvement sector.”
