INDUSTRYNEWS Bringing together all aspects of the home improvement industry »»THE CHARTERED Institute of Building (CIOB) is the latest organisation to join the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC) and add its voice to shape the direction of the leading membership organisation in the home renovation sector. Eddie Tuttle, CIOB Principal Policy and Public Affairs Manager, will sit on the steering group of the NHIC, which for more than 40 years has maintained a close liaison with Government, local authorities, housing associations, private householders and landlords as well as other trade bodies, product manufacturers and service providers. As the UK suffers the legacy of Europe’s oldest and least thermally efficient housing stock, the NHIC provides an important source of impartial advice and information on all manner of home improvements and how to ensure they are made safely, with improving living standards as the key objective. With climate change and energy prices at the forefront of many people’s minds, CIOB is bringing its own influence and links to the construction management profession and will play a key part in NHIC’s retrofit and refurbishment engagement strategies.
