Ready for the next challenge
This month Clearview caught up with SWISSPACER’s National Sales Manager,
Andy Everett. Following Vic De Costa’s retirement in May, Andy’s role is to develop
sales and further strengthen SWISSPACER’s position in the UK and Ireland. Just
over six months into the job, we met Andy to see how things are going…
You joined SWISSPACER from
Schüco. What was behind the move to
SWISSPACER?
I’d worked at Schüco for over four years
and, quite simply, I was ready for the next
challenge. The warm edge market was new
to me so I saw the move as an opportunity
to broaden my skills and expertise.
SWISSPACER’s reputation and marketleading position and products made it an easy
decision!
More than six months into the role, how
are you finding things?
The past few months have been actionpacked as I’ve been busy meeting customers
and prospects. I’m working closely with John
Cooper (Head of Marketing & Sales UK &
Ireland) to develop the business in the UK
and consolidate SWISSPACER’s position as
market leader. It’s been great to get out and
about to build relationships and contacts.
We hear a lot of talk about triple glazing,
especially in mainland Europe. Do you
think triple will take off here?
It’s true triple glazing is no longer a
niche product in Europe. Eighty percent
of windows in Nordic countries are triple
and it’s reached 60% in Germany. Closer to
home, in Ireland one in four new windows
are triple glazed.
We’re sure triple glazing will continue to
grow in the UK. SWISSPACER is tried and
tested for triple glazing and some of our
sealed unit customers already report a big rise
in sales of triple glazed units. Future building
