INDUSTRYNEWS One stop shop Success »»In the past few years, National Plastics, one of the UK’s largest independent trade counter networks, has become a byword for a one stop shop. And stocking such a wide range of products in its stores has paid dividends for the company. Managing Director Geoff Foster says, “The business has grown substantially over the last few years and in the last five years alone we have added £10 million to our turnover. Some of this is thanks to acquisitions and opening new sites, but it’s mainly because we have increased sales to our customers by offering an ever-wider range of products, holding huge amounts of stock and being able to deliver.” Geoff says there are two reasons for the company’s success: the size of the range and the customer-focused approach. He says, “All our customers are very time-pressured. Our aim is to reduce that pressure as much as possible by stocking as broad a range of products. It means our customers need to go to fewer places for their supplies, saving them time and making their lives easier.” Through Spanish Eyes [email protected] Helping to Cut Out the Middle Man »»Introducing its latest options available on the Evolution online software, Glazerite Windows Ltd invited a handful of its customers to a training day to learn the ins and outs of the latest additions to its key ordering system. Held on May 20th and part of a series of regional training days scheduled, it proved the perfect platform to explain the capabilities and key features of the Wellingborough-based fabricator’s software. Allowing customers to do their own quoting 24/7, Evolution cuts out the middle man and gives them the ability to order directly with Glazerite online. Glazerite also demonstrated how they can create bespoke reports tailor-made to suit every customer’s requirements. A presentation was also given by Austin Green of Assure Windows & Doors on Document Q and the impending changes to building regulations. “The Evolution training session was great,” said Scott Swayles of Delta Plastics. “It gave us lots of things to think about. We will definitely be looking to use the reports that were shown to us.” www.glazeritewindows.co.uk 22 » JUL 2015 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M Bespoke sliding doors from Reynaers at Home have helped to create a luxurious Spanish villa. Casa Las Palmeras was designed by architect Valentín de Madariaga and his fabricator partner Grupo Moncada. »»Using a total of 18 sets of sliding patio doors throughout the home, the sliding doors, were chosen thanks to their incredibly slim sight lines and fully automated mechanism, allowing the homeowner to open and close the doors at the push of a button. The Hi-Finity sliding elements had the tracks set deeply into the floor at specific points, with the top and side profiles integrated into the walls. The only thing that remained visible was the meeting section of the minimalistic profiles. The sliding door has been cleverly designed so that the outer frame was concealed behind the surrounding wall. Marketing Manager at Reynaers Rebecca Cope said: “This project was very much a bespoke solution, but the unique design means that even the heaviest of these doors will glide open and closed with minimal effort.” For more information visit www.reynaersathome.co.uk, email [email protected] or call 0121 421 9707
