CHARITY CHALLENGE ‘REACHES NEW HEIGHTS’
» REHAU EMPLOYEES FROM ALL
across the UK have reached the peak of their
charitable endeavours to raise money for the
Scope, which leads the way when it comes to
campaigning relentlessly for everyday equality and
to achieve a fairer society for disabled people.
Back in 2018, all REHAU staff were asked
to select a UK-based charity, and after a
vigorous voting process Scope came out on
top. The original plan was to raise £12,000 for
the charity by the end of 2019, however with
£11,700 in the pot - at time of print - this is
now likely to be surpassed.
In July 2018, teams from different REHAU
production facilities took their rivalry to the
pitch for a charity Football Match. Then in April
2019, Laurence Chownsmith UK Building
Solutions Sales Manager, took on the
London Marathon and raised over
£2,000. REHAU staff really
reached new heights when
they took on the notorious
Three Peaks challenge, more
recently. 27 employees from
the UK, Ireland, and as far away
as Italy came together to conquer
three of the highest mountains in the UK,
raising a whopping £9,500.

IT Manager Runs for Rosie
» STEVE LAMB, IT MANAGER FOR
Carl F Groupco, has completed his first
competitive half marathon, raising funds
for the Kettering Special Care Baby Unit
(SCBU).
Steve said: “I experienced first-hand the
amazing work that the Special Care Baby Unit
does as they cared for my daughter Rosie when
she was born nine weeks prematurely weighing
just 3.9lbs. Rosie spent over four weeks in the
unit and, without the skilful and meticulous
attention of the nurses and doctors, it is
unlikely that she would have survived. Rosie
is now a very healthy, happy and active 10
year old girl but I will never forget how kind,
helpful and caring the staff were.”
Just eighteen months after taking up
running as a hobby, he has succeeded in
finishing the ‘Run Silverstone’ half marathon,
which he completed in a personal best time of
just under two hours. To make his efforts even
more rewarding, he has raised over £400 to
date for his local SCBU through a Just Giving
page and cash donations.

plus will also see us reach the £2 million
fundraising milestone.”
This year, ‘Peak, Paddle, Pedal’ will see the
12 members of the team climbing Snowdon,
canoeing 150 miles down the length of the
River Severn and cycling 150 miles back to
Hope House in Oswestry – all over eight days

Gary concluded: “Each member of the team
would like to thank everyone who sponsored
