ANNUALPREDICTIONS
Annual predictions for 2020
With 2020 set to be another year of growth and
development for the industry, what might it have in store?
» THE DEMAND FOR SMART
technologies will continue to increase as
the possibilities become realised. Although
SMART technology is not a new concept
in the fenestration industry, there is
certainly room for improvement for it to be
implemented on a wider scale.
2020 could be the year when customers
demand SMART technology is built directly
into window structures, before window
installation, which could ultimately reduce
disruption to a build after the window has
been fitted.
Furthermore, as customers continue to
aspire for a modern aesthetic and showcase
individuality in their properties, we can
predict an increase in colours and modern
designs, including the development of flush
sash windows. 2019 saw a huge demand for
predominantly grey windows, but 2020 year
could see more adventurous colours being
demanded by customers.
Whatever 2020 brings, it’s certainly going
to be another busy year for the industry.

‘ACCELERATED GROWTH & A POST-BREXIT BOUNCE’
» 2019 PROVED TO BE A YEAR OF
successful consolidation for Conservatory
Outlet, with record levels of turnover in
spite of a difficult political climate. We
made the decision to not take on any new
network members this year, instead focusing
on working strategically with our existing
membership base to maximise their sales
leads and, ultimately, profits. We expect to
see accelerated growth across the coming year,
with a post-Brexit bounce hopefully on the
horizon.
A key business goal of ours this year is
to extend our Aluminium Window range,
bringing it further in line with our hugely
successful ‘Extreme’ Window and Door
collection that was further expanded upon in
2019 with the introduction of our Extreme
Solid Core Door. Whilst the Aluminium
range doesn’t fall under the ‘Extreme’ banner,
we intend to continue the theme of offering
our network members a clearly defined,
trailblazing brand that will resonate with
our sales teams and, crucially, homeowners.
Aluminium Windows are very much on-
trend at the moment, due largely to their
combination of modern materials and classic
styling, and we see no reason to believe this
won’t continue to be the case throughout
2020.
MORE THAN JUST A PRODUCT
» RICHARD HALL, MANAGING
Director for Reynaers Aluminium UK
(Reynaers), comments:
“This year, we’ve successfully combatted
the challenges of economic uncertainty and
buyer confidence by investing time and money
in ensuring our team continues to deliver an
unrivalled service.
“Our ambitious agenda for 2020 includes
developing product, process and people,
making sure we continue to showcase
innovative solutions that will appeal to our
forward- thinking customers.
“I believe the industry’s key focuses for
2020 will be:

“Sustainability. Today’s consumers want
more than just a product. They want to buy
something secure in the knowledge that the
business they’re purchasing from is committed
to reducing its environmental impact by
offering recyclable products or making
attempts to lower its carbon footprint.
“IR35. Although not impacting Reynaers
directly, our industry will need to have robust
processes and checks in place before April
2020.
“Technology. Reynaers already offers our
customers access to innovative VR technology,
through Avalon, our Virtual Reality Room,
which allows them to ‘visit’ future buildings
through a shared virtual reality experience. We
will continue to monitor developments closely
to ensure we stay one step ahead.”
