And with 2019 upon us, the fabricator’s plans for the next 12 months are already in full swing… Founded in 2000 by Jason Thompson and John Hewitt, the story of Wellingborough-based Glazerite has been remarkable. From an initial production of 50 frames per week, Glazerite’s weekly output is now in excess of 3000 frames, and the fabricator employs over 270 people across its five sites. The Group is also one of the largest VEKA/Halo fabricators in the UK. 2018 kicked off with expansion, thanks to the addition of Residence 7. Given consumer interest in flush sash, and its huge growth potential, R7 was greatly received, and gives installers - and their customers - a product for every price point. Glazerite also added the acclaimed mechanically jointed Vertical Slider from VEKA to its Heritage Range. With colour such a big driver at the moment, Glazerite is keen to support its installers so they can better meet the trend aspirations of their own customers. Glazerite has also strengthened its sales and marketing team – led by newly- recruited Group Sales and Marketing Director, Jeff Dunn – with the appointment of three new faces, and a revision of the sales team’s territories in order to improve efficiency. Glazerite also offers traditional marketing tools, including the recently launched Heritage Range of brochures and installer-branded leaflets and banner stands, which will help to raise the profile and outline the benefits of using uPVC in heritage installations. For Glazerite’s installers, it means they can take on the major players in the industry, without having to match their marketing spend. Where 2018 saw the arrival of new products and people, 2019 is all about the realisation of £1million of investments and a continued desire to help installers become ‘best in class’. A further £500k has been earmarked to double the size of Glazerite’s Bolton site, including the installation of a new £300k Stuga ZX5 machine to improve performance and capacity. New machinery is also being put in place in the East division in Peterborough, while in Wellingborough, the Specials division will be further transformed with additional offices, a trade counter and a showroom.
