Tower Bridge wins competition
» » MYGLAZING.COM COMPETITION
to celebrate window views and energy
efficient glazing found its winner in a
spectacular glass walkway high above the
River Thames.
Voting closed in the national round of
the MyGlazing.com Window with a View
competition and revealed a shortlist made
up of 11 finalists, including Cloud 23 in
Manchester and Dolbadarn Castle in Wales.
An incredibly close public vote revealed
Tower Bridge in London as the winner of this
year’s competition.
Despite some fierce competition from
runners up The Lighthouse, Glasgow, and
Emirates Spinnaker in Portsmouth, the
stunning view from London’s Tower Bridge
eventually took the national crown.
Tower Bridge’s Window with a view-
winning glass floor is 11 metres long, 1.8
metres wide and made up of laminated glass
panels weighing 530kg each.
There’s one on each of the attraction’s
high-level walkways, overlooking one of the
most famous bridges in the world but also
providing a spectacular bird’s eye view of
London life from above the River Thames.
James Lee, GGF Group Director of
Marketing and Communications, presented
the national award and commented:
“Many congratulations to Tower Bridge
on winning the Window with a View 2017
competition.”

74% OF CONSUMERS RECOGNISE CORGI
» » CORGI SERVICES
undertook a consumer awareness
survey in 2016 that revealed that
the CORGI name was recognised
by 74% of consumers in England,
Scotland and Wales.
The next three bodies behind
CORGI recognised by consumers
in the same survey were: BSI
(British Standards Institution) –
64%; FTA (Fair Trades Association)
– 50%; FMB (Federation of Master
Builders) – 40%. No glazing sector
trade bodies’ names were included
in the survey.
“The strength of the CORGI
brand is the main reason we
approached CORGI Services
to licence us to operate in the
window and doors sector,”
explained CORGI Fenestration
CEO Chris Mayne.
Mayne added: “We know
the CORGI name is recognised
for trust, reliability, expertise
and quality. This meshes
perfectly with our belief that
the fenestration sector is crying
out for a quality mark that
recognises the best. Many
highly reputable companies
in our sector are committed
to manufacturing, installing
and maintaining to the highest
standards possible and want to
set themselves apart from the
rest of the industry. CORGI
Fenestration lets them do
that by using a mark instantly
recognised not just by UK
consumers but also by everyone
working in the glazing sector.”
