Irish focus for new
regional executive
The GGF recently appointed Ian Young
to the federation as the new Regional
Executive for GGF Ireland Region.
»»Ian joins the federation
bringing a wealth of experience about
the Irish glazing market having worked
for many years for Turkington Windows
and Conservatories and more recently
for Polyframe.
Giles Willson, GGF Managing
Director commented: “We have been
looking for a regional executive for
Ireland for a while. Ian’s remit will be
to look after members in the region
and to actively recruit and promote
the GGF to Irish companies not yet in
membership.”
Ian commented: “I am delighted
to be given this opportunity to work
for the Glass and Glazing Federation
in Ireland. I look forward to working
with the members to maximise
their benefits of membership and to
communicate to potential members
how being a member can give them
many competitive advantages in the
market. I aim, with the help of my
new colleagues at the federation,
to create a strong GGF presence in
Ireland that will benefit member
companies, the wider industry and
homeowners.”

GGF appoints new health,
safety and facilities manager
»»The Glass and
Glazing Federation (GGF)
is pleased to announce the
appointment of Phil Pinnington
as Health & Safety and
Facilities Manager.
With over 18 years’
experience working within
the charity, energy and
transport sectors, Phil has a
been successful in developing
and implementing Health
and Safety strategies within
diverse organisations to nurture
positive perspectives on Health
and Safety
In addition to his experience,
Phil holds qualifications
from NEBOSH (National
Examination Board in
Occupational Safety and
Health), British Safety
Council, IOSH (Institute
of Occupational Health
and Safety, and BSI (British
Standards Institute).
Phil’s remit will include
working on consolidating the
expertise within the GGF Health
and Safety Committee, growing
the subscription to GLASS
Charter, developing the GGF’s
library of Health and Safety
publications and working in
partnership with HSE (Health
and Safety Executive) on
industry issues.
On his new position, Phil
commented: “I am excited
to have joined the GGF and
look forward to combining my
practical approach to health and
safety and broad experience to
support GGF Members.”
