RESIDOR IS HELPING GAP Home Improvements sell more doors by providing the security homeowners want.
Eighty-five percent of homeowners say security is top priority when they’ re buying a new door, and Residor passes all the current security tests. GAP Sales Manager, Jon Goodchild, explains:“ We were keen to add Residor to the range. We’ ve sold Solidor for five years and we’ ve been impressed with its quality and service. So when Residor was launched we knew it would live up to the standard we’ d expect. Residor GRP composite doors offer our customers the security and style they want – premium quality without the premium price tag. We’ ve installed over 20 Solidor and Residor doors at our showsite.”
At 3.8mm Residor’ s GRP skins are more than double the thickness of 7 out of 10 composite doors on the market. Each Residor passes the new PAS24:2016 cut test. Every Residor door comes with an Ultion cylinder door lock, guaranteed against burglary by lock-snapping and proven to provide homes with real-life security.
Residor CEO, Gareth Mobley, says:“ Sales have taken off, and our customers say their customers love their Residor doors.”

APEER HAS BEEN officially granted certification on the latest PAS24 accreditation with cut test, in accordance with Approved Document Q requirements.
Every door in its Apeer, Modo, Double Diamond and Lumi Composite ranges was put through the full physical testing process but, as Marketing Manager Linda Tomb explained, the test was only a formality:
“ All of those doors were already well within the specification to pass the revised test. No one doubted they would sail through but certification is now a standard requisite in sectors such as newbuild – and increasingly asked about on everything down to
one-off domestic retrofits – so of course we need to be able to show the piece of paper.”
Like many other door ranges, Apeer products have held PAS24 since the standard was introduced in 2007, as well as its subsequent updates. The latest of these requires a door to withstand a specific attack using chisels and a Stanley-type knife for a minimum of three minutes.
Linda continued:“ Demand for higher specification is coming from both legislation and from customers and homeowners themselves. Any fabricator or installer offering our doors is already at the forefront.”

New grey trickle vents and woodgrain launched for 2017

TODAY, HOUSE OWNERS ARE looking for those quality final touches to dress the windows that are a significant investment. Trickle vents that blend into the window add one of those touches. This has been seen in the rise of many shades of grey such as anthracite grey( 7016).
Glazpart has extended its range of woodgrain trickle vents with the launch of Silver Oak, which reflects an aged or weathered grey oak finish. The finish is now available on all trickle vent ranges and can be supplied mix and match, especially white on Silver Oak.
The trickle vents include the Link, Standard, Slim line and modular trickle vents in all current sizes. Also included is the range of flat grilles ideal for over frame, patio or Bi-fold door applications.
Also new for 2017 is a mill finish stainless steel“ silver” for use especially with aluminium or steel window systems. Dean Bradley, Sales and Marketing Manager, says:“ The 2017“ silver” colours extend the range of products that seamlessly blend and dress window frames and sashes.
These match the increasing demand for coloured and foiled products, and add value with colour coordinated windowwear, especially prominent products like trickle vents.”
