NEW STAR OF THE SHOWROOM
» QUALITERE ALREADY HAD NO
fewer than 18 Apeer composite doors in
its extensive Nottinghamshire showroom,
but owner Martin Harris decided Silka
was going to be the star of the show and
immediately set to moving his existing
top-seller from the prime position to make
way for the new Silka door in its flagship
Anthracite finish.
Silka, with its smooth skin finish is aimed
not only as a price competitive alternative
to aluminium but also as a statement in its
own right, as well as being a perfect match
for Apeer’s radical Lumi and Lumi2 window
systems.
Martin says the Apeer composite door range
has always been a favourite with customers,
with many commenting on how much warmer
and quieter they are, and now with the new
star of the show, they are expected to attract
even more attention.
The range, which is also available to
order through Apeer’s online configurator,
Doorbuilder, comes in anthracite grey, light
grey, black and cream, and includes eight
door styles with a choice of six stainless steel
and two all glass glazing trims, plus four more
bespoke design options.

STEEL STYLE POINTS AND SAVE
SPACE WITH INTERNAL DOORS
» SAVING SPACE WHILE PROVIDING A
contemporary industrial aesthetic, internal
steel sliding doors from Steel Window
Association members provide solidity without
being visually overpowering. The W20 single
glazed profiles ensure good sight lines from
one area to another, compared to potentially
chunky proportions required with timber or
aluminium, while allowing maximum light
transmission.
The doors can be of any size and are hung
from a high quality, heavy duty track system
so door thresholds are unnecessary, resulting in

an uninterrupted finished floor level. Recessed
handle plates are normally installed into the
door.
Excellent durability is assured as the doors
can be hot-dip galvanised and factory-finished.
To achieve the required look, a high quality
polyester powder coat may be applied in any
RAL colour or, alternatively, an industrial raw
steel finish can be provided that shows up the
details of the manufacturing process, including
the welded joints. This is achieved either
through a clear powder coating or with the
application of a high-quality factory applied
lacquer.
