Every year gets better and better
» IT’S A DOUBLE CELEBRATION FOR
Morley Glass & Glazing as the business
has been announced as the winner of two
categories at the 2019 National Fenestration
Awards.
The business came out on top against two
other companies to win the Integral Blinds
Company category and was also revealed as
the winner of the IGU Manufacturer award
for the third consecutive year, this year
sharing the accolade with Clayton Glass.
Morley MD Ian Short comments: “We
really feel as though every year gets better
and better for our business, and 2019 has
certainly been no exception. This year saw us
hit a million metres of glass milestone with
Saint-Gobain Glass, and most recently, we
were proud to report an annual growth in
turnover of 22%.”
As always, the business has also upheld
its commitment to supporting a number
of worthy causes through the community,
including recently hosting The Rotary
Club of Roundhay’s inaugural petanque
tournament, which raised £2,513 for three
local hospices.

Trio of Rooflights Shed Light on New Extension
When it came to the construction of a new, single story extension on the back of a
property in Sutton, Surrey, one of the most important factors for the homeowners, was
how best to illuminate their substantial and stylish new living space with enough natural light.
» AFTER CONSIDERING A
number of options, the owners
were eventually won over by the
new, high quality aluminium
framed rooflights from TuffX
– specifying a total of three,
1,300mm x 2,190mm units
featuring blue, solar control
glazing.
TuffX’s contemporary
aluminium rooflight, which was
developed in-house at the glass
specialist’s Merseyside HQ, is
available in anthracite grey as
standard and has been designed
not just with aesthetics in mind,
but also to be exceptionally
fitter friendly. It can be supplied
directly to installers as a complete
assembled unit, and then simply
dropped into place and secured
once on site.
Available in either 6mm
double glazed, or 6mm triple
glazed with thermal toughened
safety glass – and ‘U’ values as
low as 0.7w/m2 – the external
panes of each unit also receive
an opaque border. This ensures
that any joins and sealant are
concealed before the panes are
assembled into an aluminium
frame, creating a premium
product that’s ready for
installation, ‘out of the box’.
In the case of this Sutton
project, all three units were
ordered and delivered within the
space of just two weeks, with the
installer company reporting that
they ‘went in like a dream’. They
added: “The TuffX rooflights
were incredibly easy to fit, and
we were also highly impressed
with the design and quality of
the materials. Everyone who has
seen them has been extremely
impressed.”
TuffX aluminium framed
rooflights can be specified in a
range of glass finishes, including
clear, opaque and solar, and can
be delivered directly to site with
a market leading seven-day lead
time.
Graham Price, managing
director of TuffX, commented:
“Installers love our aluminium
framed rooflights because
they represent an attractive,
easy to install and high value
product that is in demand from
consumers. In addition, the fact
that we are able to produce our
rooflights in bespoke sizes at no
additional cost thanks to the
control we have over our glass
production, makes them an even
more desirable addition to our
customers’ portfolios.”
