GOLD MEMBERSHIP RAISES PROFILE FOR FABRICATOR
» » PROFILE 22 FABRICATOR, SELECT
Windows, has just achieved Constructionline
Gold membership.
Gold membership is a new level of
membership for Constructionline that reflects
the broadening needs of suppliers and buyers.
It is a demanding standard that demonstrates
that Select Windows aligns with industry and
government standards in a multitude of areas.
The standard’s enhanced PQQ question set goes
beyond the data collected by PAS91 and includes
sections on environmental management, quality
management, equalities and diversity and well
as compliance with legislation in areas such as
modern slavery, anti-bribery and corruption.
Over half of Select Windows’ portfolio is in
the commercial sector and its clients include
major builders, local authorities, registered social
landlords, procurement consortia, contractors
and schools. It has an experienced commercial
team committed to working closely with supply
chain colleagues to deliver an outstanding service
to all its clients. It is a Profile 22 fabricator and
in Optima it has a system that is fast becoming
the commercial system of choice in the UK, a
factor that gives Select a further advantage when
tendering for commercial contracts.

FELINE FINE… 26 PVC-U CHARITY CAT PENS
» » VEKA GROUP
fabricator and installer Everglade
of Wythenshawe has completed
a ‘pet project’ of building and
fitting almost 30 PVC-U profile
cat pens at the Society for
Abandoned Animals (SAA), after
the charity in Sale received a series
of ‘legacy donations’, combined
with two significant grants from
larger charities.
Deni Sirovica, co-owner at
Everglade said: “PVC-U may
seem like a strange choice, but it
is a fantastic material for this type
of structure. During fabrication,
the VEKA profile we chose for the
project - Matrix FS - is so good to
work with as it can be customised
to create the skeleton structure we
need and fit flush into the space
‘Commercial system of choice’
for social housing in Liverpool
» » A £4.6 MILLION
project by Liverpool Mutual
Homes (LMH) delivered family
homes for affordable rent on a
neglected brownfield site and
featured Optima Windows from
Profile 22 as part of a series of
measures to maximise energy
efficiency.
Leighton Dene in Fazakerley,
Liverpool, was once the site of a
run-down nursing home and had
lain vacant for a number of years.
Liverpool City Council released
the site to the Liverpool Housing
Partnership, an innovative
housing consortium model that
sees receipts from land sales to
Redrow Homes ring-fenced
and reinvested into affordable
housing.

the windows in the development.
Profile 22’s Optima is rapidly
becoming the commercial system
of choice and Optima casement
windows were specified for this
project. The award-winning
windows deliver easy-to-maintain
aesthetics, but, more importantly
for this project, exceptional
security and low U values.

provided to promote a safe and
sound environment for the cats
that are going to live there.
“From a maintenance point
of view, these frames couldn’t be
easier to clean and will never need
to be repainted like traditional
timber, which will mean
volunteers can spend their time
more wisely, looking after the cats
in their care and trying to find
them new homes.”
