GLAZINGSUMMIT Glazing Summit reaches new heights with new second stage This year’s eagerly anticipated Glazing Summit will feature not one but two stages to allow attendees access to even more content. » » TO BUILD ON THE SUCCESS OF last year’s event, organisers Insight Data and Purplex Marketing will launch the all-new Technical Stage. The one-day conference, which is being headline sponsored by the GGF, takes place on Thursday, September 12 at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, Birmingham. And thanks to the new Technical Stage, which will run alongside the main stage, it’s going to be bigger and better than before. TWO STAGES = MORE CONTENT The Yale-sponsored Technical Stage will tackle the key issues around technical, compliance and regulations, and provide senior technical people and designers, production directors, H&S and compliance officers with a platform to learn and share best practice. Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of glazing industry specialists Insight Data and Purplex, explained: “There are lots of big issues to cover this year and industry leaders will want the answers to some big questions – so we decided to launch the Technical Stage to fit them all in. “This year we want to make sure there is a discussion and debate that will appeal to everyone who’s attending. “With two stages we can cover a wider range of topics and provide visitors with content that is more valuable to them. “It’s all about striking the right balance for visitors and we are very excited about the Technical Stage – it will be a wonderful addition to the event.” Alongside the Technical Stage, the main stage will be packed with a fresh line-up of key-note speakers and industry experts debating the latest industry trends, the big issues facing the sector, new technologies and products, and where the industry is going. Organisers are finalising the agenda and topics for discussion on both stages, as well as the key speakers and panellists. Andrew added: “The goal last year was to bring together industry leaders to discuss and debate the big issues facing the glass and glazing industry – and we certainly achieved that. “Now we want to make it bigger and better for this year, which means more topics, more speakers and more people. “The aim is to have something for everyone, whether you are a fabricator, installer, component supplier or glass company.” PARTNERS REVEAL THEIR GLAZING SUMMIT WISH LIST With organisers currently putting together the agenda for this year’s Glazing Summit, some of the event partners have spoken about what they are hoping is discussed at this year’s event. A line-up of key-note speakers, including respected industry leaders, trailblazers and proven experts, will discuss the biggest industry issues across the Main Stage and, new for this year, the Technical Stage. “The big topic will be around smart tech,” commented Sam Nuckey, Managing Director of major UK distributor Window Ware. “It’s a hot topic across the industry as new products are being brought to market that are definitely more focussed on the fabricator, rather than just purely and primarily the consumer.” 32 » AUG 2019 » CL EARVI E W- UK .
