New showroom is thrice as nice

(FCD) has further expanded its reach across
East Anglia, thanks to the addition of a third
showroom. The Suffolk-based installer, and
customer of leading VEKA fabricator, the
Glazerite UK Group Ltd, has opened up the
space in the Norfolk town of Diss, on the site
of a former toy shop.
Covering 500 sq. ft FCD has cleverly
utilised the space to create a spectacular
display of windows, doors, bi-folds and
even conservatory roof samples. Both
the Diss showroom and another in Ely,
Cambridgeshire, are additions to FCD’s main
showroom in Bury St Edmunds.
Owner and Managing Director, Adrian
Lewis, comments: “Over the last three years,
we’ve worked hard to build awareness of
our business and establish a presence in the
Norfolk area with a stall in the local market.
This meant we were able to generate enquiries
and introduce ourselves to potential customers
before opting to create a more permanent
space with the showroom.”
FCD employs 40 people and also owns
trade-focused Plastic Trade Frames. The
team were victorious at the recent VEKA’s
Independent Network Members’ Weekend,
where they were awarded a National Customer
Satisfaction award.

» » UNIQUE WINDOW SYSTEMS HAS
thrown its support behind the 2019 Glazing

on the threats and opportunities facing the
industry.
“The Glazing Summit proved last year that
it was an event that the industry wanted,
and it was great to be a part of one of the
panel discussions,” said Sunil. “We felt it was
important to lend our support this year and
are delighted to be sponsoring the Leaders
Dinner.”
The Leaders Dinner, which will take
place in the Edgbaston Banqueting Suite,
will round off the day in style with drinks

BUSINESS REBRAND BUILDS ‘RECYCLE FAMILY’
» » EUROCELL, THE UK’S LEADING
manufacturer, distributor and recycler of
PVC-U window, door, conservatory and
roofline systems, is rebranding its Ecoplas
recycling business. Ecoplas, formerly the
largest independent PVC-U recycler in the
country, was acquired by Eurocell in August
2018; it contributed significantly to the
record breaking 3.6 million frames Eurocell
prevented from going to landfill last year.
The rebrand is part of an ongoing strategy
by Eurocell to simplify and extend the face of
its recycling operations and follows a move
last year to bring Merritt Plastics under the
Eurocell Recycle brand. As a result, between

Ilkeston and Selby, Eurocell Recycle now
offers the largest and most complete closed-
loop process in the UK for collecting and
processing used PVC-U frames to be re-
extruded and turned into new windows, doors
and building products.
Products manufactured from recycled
PVC-U are actually stronger than those made
with virgin plastic because of the chemical
transformation of the polymers it contains
when it goes through the recycling process.
Research also shows it can be recycled up
to ten times with no degradation in quality,
giving it a lifespan in the construction
industry of 350 years.
