CONSERVATORIES&ROOFS Quality conservatory trend drives new company » » A NEW BUSINESS IS FINDING A niche in supplying quality components for conservatories. AC Supplies was started by Adrian Cooper in June this year. Adrian, who has 25 years’ experience in the conservatory/window, glass and glazing sector, said: “I have sold components into the conservatory roof market for years. The market has changed considerably, especially over the last couple of years. There are now many different styles of conservatory, with features such as roof lanterns and solid tiled roofs, and we have moved well away from ‘traditional’ polycarbonate styles. “Sophisticated designs and better materials are really boosting the popularity of conservatories, and people want to enjoy being ‘outdoors’ all year round, even if it’s raining. A well-built conservatory is a good investment and creates usable, everyday space. Clients are becoming more discerning and seeking out, for example, higher quality aluminium structures.” Adrian prides AC Supplies on its hundreds of quality products which include cast aluminium tie bar kits, gallows brackets, boss ends, radius end castings and peripherals and spindles and poles as well as foam, tapes and sealants. All products are manufactured in the UK – unlike many other companies who source such products abroad - and all the products are structurally tested, with back-up documentation. The cast aluminium items, like the tie bar kits, are produced from an ISO 9001 approved supplier and as Adrian states “fabricators should be able to buy structural items with total confidence and that’s what I can offer”. “The quality of these products is tried and tested, with all the information installers need – such as load bearing details for gallows brackets.” He commented: “AC Supplies is a standalone company and I’m working hard with a new dedicated team to ensure all deliveries are on time and in full which is exciting as I lay the foundations of the new business. At the current rate, I’m sure we’ll soon outgrow our current space but for now keeping overheads low is a priority.” 80 » AUG 2017 » CL EARVI E W- UK . C O M AC Supplies’ customers are conservatory roof manufacturers and conservatory installers looking for quality products. Adrian added: “I don’t want to rush all round the market place but want to focus only on supplying very good products. I can’t say too much but in the coming months there’s going to be an exciting new product range coming through. We’ve also got a new steel tie bar kit system - for the high end - and in colours we can offer black and greys as well as other contemporary shades rather than just the standard white and brown.” All products are stocked for next day delivery. Adrian’s approach matches the shift towards high quality - a world away from days gone by when conservatories were not held in high esteem. Then, they were simply seen as a cheap way to add an extra room. Now it’s all about orangeries, glazed extensions and material choices, with homeowners not skimping on any of the details. AC Supplies’ portfolio is designed to match these trends and Adrian is continually active in seeking out the latest advancements. Conservatories are becoming more an integral part of house design and are increasingly more colourful – not just white. What was once a cheap add-on is becoming for many a favourite room, particularly as homeowners choose to improve and extend their properties and stay put rather than move into a new bigger home. Adrian added: “It’s early days but we think we have hit on the right niche in a growing market. We have already had a very good response from customers.” For more information contact Adrian Cooper on 07393 636561 or e-mail [email protected]
