celebrating a five-year anniversary
for its five-chambered, energy
efficient O70 Gold® window and
door system, boasting a number
of high profile and well respected
manufacturers throughout the UK

Profile design in the PVCu
window industry has been based
on a three/four-chambered design
for several decades, yet the launch in 2010 of
Kömmerling’s five-chambered systems, broke
convention and for good reason. With energy
efficiency top of the agenda, there was a need
not just from glass processors, but from all
companies in the supply chain to make their
products perform better.
Today Kömmerling can boast the fivechambered chamfered C70 and ovolo O70
Gold® window and door systems, which share
the same beads and the profiles are also both
fully interchangeable, a considerable benefit
for fabricators.

Whilst five-chambered systems are
now cast in design for the immediate
future, Kömmerling is already working
on new window and door systems,
which push the boundaries of design
and energy efficiency further. Its
KBE System 88 has been tested
to achieve a U-value of 0.6 W/
m2K, while its new PremiDoor
88 can readily achieve the
requirements for Passivhaus.
Kevin Warner, head of sales and marketing

been investing heavily in product design as the
new European platform of System 76 and our
latest PremiDoor 88 lift and slide door clearly

A growing awareness of Secured by Design
amongst consumers is also creating more
opportunities for installers. Everglade’s

is now manufacturing complete composite
door sets for customers using the new
REHAU TOTAL70 62mm profile at its
dedicated door manufacturing facility in
Mansfield.
Simon Loker, Marketing Manager at
Polyframe, said: “The new door profile is
a fantastic addition to the REHAU range.
It means that all those installers who
currently buy their REHAU windows from
us can now buy REHAU doors as well.
REHAU’s Marketing and Technical

business from all those installers who like
to fit REHAU.
“They are successfully promoting all
the benefits of being able to suite the
door frames with side lights and matching
window installations in REHAU TOTAL70,

customers don’t have any need to go
anywhere else.”
The REHAU composite door profile
was specifically developed to allow
fabricators like Polyframe who are already
manufacturing composite doors to offer
a fully suited REHAU window and door
package.
