MOVERS&SHAKERS NEW GGF REGIONAL SECRETARY FOR IRELAND » THE GLASS AND GLAZING Federation (GGF) is pleased to announce David Borland, GGF Senior Technical Officer has been appointed as Federation’s Regional Secretary for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. With vast experience of working within the technical side of the industry, David’s role is being expanded to cover all membership matters in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In his role as Senior Technical Officer, David’s remit covers the GGF’s Home Improvement Groups as well as the Insulating Glass Manufacturers and Glazing Components Groups. In addition, David also represents the Technical department on the GGF Political Strategy Committee. On taking up his new role, David commented, “There’s a lot of work ahead for the GGF on many fronts and in particular in Ireland over the next twelve months with the UK leaving the EU and the Brexit transition period. I very much look forward to sharing my technical and membership expertise to support and grow membership in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.” [email protected] “A natural understanding of fabricators’ needs” » GARNALEX WELCOMES PAUL Greenaway as Sheerline Area Sales and Technical Manager – South East. Paul will introduce Sheerline systems to aluminium and PVC-U fabricators to build sales in the region. Paul has worked in the industry for nearly 34 years. Having started his career at his family’s fabrication company, Paul moved to fabricator GJB Developments. Paul worked with them for 21 years on a variety of roles, including seven years looking after technical support and product testing, Production Manager, and Factory Manager. Paul was recruited to be ALUK’s Area Sales Manager for London and the South East, where he discovered his passion for sales and aluminium. Paul says: “There’s a huge appetite in the market for aluminium. The market is growing, and a lot of PVC-U fabricators are seeing the potential. I accepted the job without seeing the window system, because I knew with Roger behind it, it would be truly ground-breaking.” Roger Hartshorn adds: “Paul’s background puts him in a great position. Following a year away from the business in 2003, Sarah returned and quickly rose through the ranks, building her knowledge and expertise across Window Ware’s broad range of services. During her tenure, Sarah has been a Business Development Executive, the manager of Window Ware’s Bedford trade counter, an Area Sales Manager and Marketing Services Manager. In 2016, Sarah was promoted to her current role: Head of Internal Sales and Marketing.
