7THINGS... 7 things you didn’t know about... Sash UK is one of the longest established fabricators in the UK. Here are 7 things from behind the scenes of the South Yorkshire- based manufacturer that you may not know. 1. FOUNDED BY ‘BEAN AND MORRELL’ Sash UK still today, draws on its heritage of its two founders, ‘Bean and Morrell’. Both were qualified and successful joiners of their time, and set up the business trading out of a small garage. As the business grew (it is currently an impressive 52 years old), it flourished. During this time, it has served the construction industry across many different sectors supplying suitable sustainable and energy efficient products for many years. At the heart of its business, stands a strong ‘Quality is key’ empathy of local employment. Its production site in South Yorkshire has a large, robust and committed workforce who support its continuous technological developments and its ability to produce the latest new product for the markets. Quality is key, driven as first it was from 1965. 2. BRIDGES AND BALCONIES Sash UK belongs to a wider group from which also sits Fitrite Fencing and Decking. The business was originally developed as part of the company’s strategy to help supply a wider range of associated products to the industry. Today, Fitrite is a standalone business offering low maintenance, decking and fencing solutions in national and international markets. The range comprises of an innovative, quality PVCu range of coloured fencing and decking products. The range has expanded rapidly, and the business has grown, now offering oth er products to commercial contracts such as; replacement bridges, poolside wet areas and balconies. 3. DYNAMIC DIMENSION Building on the existing solid structure and a history of high quality performance, Sash UK was part of a buyout from new owners, John Ross and Nick Lilburn. Both founders of Safestyle UK, the pair took over the business in 2016, seeing an opportunity to bring a dynamic and new dimension to Sash UK. Since the takeover, Sash UK has seen the business driven in a more purposeful direction with a great emphasis being on its customers, and the products and quality it should offer. Over this time, Sash UK also saw the recruitment of key senior management staff in crucial areas such as operations, production and marketing. 4. WORKING AT THE COALFACE Sash UK is renowned for its service, quality and high-standards, so when a problem does occur the excellent set-up of its account management team springs into action. SASH UK BACKS SPORTS Part of building links with the community, Sash UK sponsors a local sporting community group. Fun Box is a boxing club organised for children with special needs. The aim of the group is to help teach the youngsters skills in socialising and interaction. Sash UK provide sponsorship for the youngster’s kit – helping parents to alleviate the finical costs for their child to get involved. The charity is organised and run by a Sash UK employee’s wife, whose son attends the group. 6.
