INDUSTRYNEWS Radio adverts pot thousands in sales »»THE WINDOW OUTLET is making the most of Network VEKA’s extensive support and enjoying big business benefits. Director, Graeme Pritt, quickly became an advocate for Network VEKA’s radio adverts after trialling their effect for The Window Outlet. “I’ve never really rated radio adverts before; I wasn’t convinced that they translated into any realistic sales. However, I thought I’d test the Steve Davis adverts on our local station, CFM, and see if they made any difference to our business. “They’ve actually worked so well, I’ve just booked them to run for another month! “We took all three Steve Davis adverts and we adapted them with our own jingle. It’s a catchy tune that starts with the words ‘it’s a beautiful day’. It’s definitely working for us. Customers have told us that they find themselves singing it long after the ad is played - so it certainly has recall value! “Based on our experience, I would recommend Network VEKA membership to any hardworking company looking to build their business. There’s so much assistance at hand. Being part of this organisation has had a massive, positive effect on The Window Outlet.” www.networkveka.co.uk WOWING THE CROWDS »»ACCORDING TO APEER, the recent Selfbuild and Improve Your Home Exhibition in Belfast was the busiest and most exciting to date, attracting over 18,000 visitors to a new venue at the Titanic Exhibition Centre. Apeer’s marketing manager, Linda Tomb, said: “We knew from experience of previous Selfbuild shows, and other exhibitions such as London Grand Designs Live, that we would get a great response, but the reaction we had from trade customers and consumers alike was just fantastic. “Homeowners in particular loved the frameless windows and we noticed that many came back for a second look,” she continued. “After speaking with our sales staff, who took the time to talk them through the design and features, we discovered that they were also just as impressed by the energy efficiency performance as the aesthetics. “There was plenty of interest in our Lumi bi-folds as well, with visitors telling us they loved the stylish yet sturdy looks, and also how easy they were to open and close,” added Linda. Apeer has signed up for the next Selfbuild and Improve Your Home Exhibition in Dublin from the 9th to 11th of September 2016. I was worrie d that an external agency wouldn’t get our business and industry, and be able to add value. “But I attended the Ryder Cup in 2010, for an industry event, where a leading construction figure showed me some research that demonstrated how companies that consistently invest in marketing outperform those that don’t. It was compelling evidence and Purplex stood out head and shoulders above the other agencies.” CDW Directors Jerry says the results speak for themselves; and together with Purplex CDW has grown its turnover by 53% in four years and employed twenty five new members of staff. www.purplexmarketing.com
