Fabricators save thousands
by “shopping around”
»»Leading manufacturer of
flexible extrusions, Birmingham-based
ExtrudaSeal, who supplies half of all
aluminium fabricators in the UK with a wide
range of quality gaskets, weather seals and
pressure plates, has seen a significant increase
in the number of customers over the past
twelve months.
The growth is credited by the company
to increased competition, which is urging
aluminium fabricators to reduce costs by
sourcing components from specialist suppliers,

& sales director, Paul James (right)
rather than as a “package deal” from systems
companies.
Recent years have seen a rapid rise of the
“shop-around” movement, with individuals
and businesses alike trading the immediate
convenience of a one-stop shop for long term
financial gains. The change in mind-set has
also reached the fenestration industry, as
fabricators look to increase their competitive
edge.
ExtrudaSeal Managing Director, Chris
Byers, comments, “The aluminium market is
obviously on the r ise, but so is competition
amongst fabricators who are keen to take
advantage of it. As they seek to become more
competitive on prices, one obvious change
is their components supply chain and, as a
specialised extruder of gaskets and weather
seals, our volumes allow us to offer them
significant cost savings.”

The agreement ties the two companies together
for the forthcoming years, strengthening a
partnership that over the last quarter of a

terms of turnover on the back of further
developments to their impressive tiled
GardenRoom roof and other solutions
for the emerging extended living space
market.
Chris Baron and Chris Cooke, codirectors of Prefix Systems commented:
“To be nominated in one category would
be an achievement, but in four is quite
incredible.”
