The new Pivotal Points report examines the perceptions of installers, fabricators and specifiers to determine the drivers behind specification decisions. Ninety percent of specifiers do not find it easy to source manufacturers that put enough focus on aesthetics within their portfolios. Nigel Wood, Business Development Manager at SFS intec, comments: “Specifiers when when a high percentage of fabricators, specifiers and installers desire them. This is supported by the statistics found in our industry report, which stated that 50-100% of all projects are now driven by aesthetics. So while 80% of the fenestration industry once specified white doors and windows, this is now rapidly changing. The demand for cutting-edge designs and advanced colours is increasing, and so is the specification for colour-matched hardware. “The industry needs to act now to ensure supply meets demand, perhaps by working with specifiers to identify the key metrics for success,” Nigel concluded. To eliminate the unsightly machining marks associated with the modification of casement fasteners, the backplate is a bespoke precision cast component. This also provides the product consistency necessary for modern window production lines. The handle’s ‘Lift to Turn’ function prevents handle droop on top hung sashes and guards against external manipulation. Full key locking is provided by the working cylinder. To complement the handle, there is also a non-handed greenteQ Monkey Tail Dummy Casement Stay, a purely decorative item that fits to the bottom of the opening sash to replicate a casement stay and peg, thus completing the ‘traditional illusion’. Both the handle and stay are finished in hard wearing Antique Black powder coat and are covered by the 10 year greenteQ guarantee. ‘Antique Black powder coat’ Download info at www.vbhgb.com or call 01634 263300.
