Debar celebrates partnership with
fabricator Made for Trade
Debar is celebrating the successful
partnership with one of their customers,
Made for Trade, which has seen a fantastic
up-turn in sales of its bi-folding door sets
since partnering with Debar.
The company, which also fabricates and
supplies conservatory roof kits, introduced the
Smart Visofold 1000 aluminium bi-folding
door system to its current product offering
last March and from a standing start is now
manufacturing 35 sets a week.
Bradley Guant, Made for Trade MD
commented, “We wanted to add more
products to our portfolio. Manufacturing
roofing systems meant we had the skills to take
on other complex manufacturing processes, so
we decided to offer bi-folding door sets.
“Debar’s Graham Fawthrop and his team
offered more than just door hardware supply,
they assisted us at every learning curve.”
Debar recently launched Dewall, a first-of-itskind bespoke timber bi-folding door system.
The hardware was designed around the system
and offers full technical instructions on how to
build, giving fabricators, joiners and carpenters
all they need to produce a faultless timber bifold door and expand into new markets.

COTSWOLD CONTINUES ON THE UP
International friction stay
manufacturer, Cotswold
Architectural Products is up
20 per cent compared to same
time last year, in what represents
another record-breaking period
of trading for the company.
In August last year Cotswold
reported it was 14 per cent up
on the same period in 2012, the
company’s best start to a year
since 2005.
Management says that demand
for its EZ range of friction stays
in the UK; and demand for
its heavy duty range abroad is
driving the growth. The EZ easiclean range of egress stays from
Cotswold is one of the firm’s most
popular. To meet the anticipated
demand Cotswold recently
invested in a new EZ stay line.
Domestically the Cheltenham
based manufacturer has also seen
new customers come on board
and existing ones reporting strong
growth.
The company’s growth coincides
with good news about the UK
economy. According to the
Office for National Statistics
the UK economy has returned
to pre-crisis levels by expanding
0.8% in the second quarter of
this year. On an annual basis
gross domestic product (GDP)
expanded by 3.1%.

Siegenia’s hardware
advancement addresses the fact
that traditional solutions for this
market have often required a
complicated buying and fitting
process. Initiatives for the ALU
series include
non-handed and pre-assembled
components to enhance
installation and st ock control.
Other key features include
clampable hinge-side frame
components. Vertical and
horizontal locks are identical,
which reduces stock holding
as the components are
interchangeable. Three pieced
hinge ends are flush, and inline
with the sash profile to enhance
aesthetics. Using push rod
technology designed for the
profile, the system can be fitted
to different size windows without
increasing stock holding.
The product has a maximum
weight of 130kg and is available
with an extensive range of
accessories. The ALU axxent
is a concealed version of the
hardware.
