The year is getting busier and busier – and shows no signs
of letting up as we draw nearer to The FIT Show (which
we are now automatically starting to call “the awardwinning FIT Show”!) We feature many of the companies
that between them will be ensuring the event is even
more informative and enjoyable, as the first one.
According to reports
from two of our directors,
Fensterbau Frontale in
Nuremberg more than lived
up to its reputation for
fabulous hospitality, and also
managed to present some
genuine product innovation
on an international scale.
With our first Clearview
(Locksmith Journal) exhibition
being planned, it was good to
pick up ideas and inspiration
from this event – as it will be
at FIT in June. Learn from the
masters, that’s what we say!
Coventry’s Ricoh Arena was
the focus in April for the very
well-supported Triple Glazing
Question event, hosted by
Edgetech (a Quanex company)
and neatly compered by
Edgetech MD Andy Jones.
Some of the answers to the
many interesting and pertinent
questions raised during the
event did, perhaps, surprise
Andy - and representatives of
other supporting companies,
because the answers clearly
demonstrated a keen industry
awareness at every level, that
was not entirely expected. The
event was primarily organised
to “educate and inform” the
industry and stimulate interest
also to raise concerns with
them in the Expert Arena on
the same day.
Also in this issue, Martin
Dickie, Business Unit Director,
Door-Stop examines what
innovation really means in
a light-hearted article that
nonetheless goes straight to the
crux of the matter.
And we hear more this month
about innovation from Neil
Ginger, Origin CEO, who rewrote the bi-folding doors rules
and is reaping the rewards.
