2014PREDICTIONS
ON THE ROAD TO GROWTH
WITH BIGGER, BETTER FLEET
Glazerite is keeping ahead of ever-growing
demand with a bigger fleet and more
efficient trucks for 2014.
The first of the new vehicles, a Fuso Canter
7.5 tonne impressed the fabricator so much
with its light weight body and increased load
capacity that it immediately ordered a second
– and it may not be long before it plans on
adding more.
Record sales throughout 2013 – combined
with increased orders for bigger, heavier
products – meant the existing fleet would
soon have been at capacity, said director Jason
Thompson, and therefore the additional
vehicles were essential to uphold the
company’s reputation for service and quick
turnaround.
“When we deliver to every part of mainland
Britain at least once a week, our customers
quite rightly expect us to be able to meet
deadlines. Also, much of our growth in
demand has been in heavier products such as
VS, bi-folds, composite and patio doors. The
Canters have 30% more payload than some of
our existing fleet so will cope with that easily.
“We now produce over 2,400 frames a week
and the extended fleet will provide us with a
delivery capacity in excess of 3,000 frames per
week.”

“Phenomenal” year of trading
As they fast approach their
first decade in business,
Sunsquare Ltd are celebrating a
“phenomenal” year of trading in
2013.
The UK’s market leading
flat roof skylight designers and
manufacturers, Sunsquare have
seen an incredibly successful last 12
months with turnover more than
30 per cent up on 2012.
The Suffolk-based company
celebrates its 10th birthday on
16th January 2014, and has
enjoyed double-figure growth every
year since launch. Sunsquare also
recently moved factories into a new
state-of-the-art facility in a bid to
cope with increasing demand.
“We have experienced significant
growth every single year since our
launch in 2004 but this year has
been particularly phenomenal,”
said Justin Seldis, Managing
Director.
Sunsquare is preparing to
showcase its new lantern/pyramid
product as well as new opening
skylight products at Grand Designs
Live London 2014.
“We’re really excited about
exhibiting our new products at
Grand Designs Live in May. With
a prominent display area we’re
confident our pioneering rooflight
technology and contemporary style
will shine on a global scale,” said
Seldis.
Investment in the business’s
core design beliefs has been key to
the success of the company, with
substantial investments being made
into staff training, machinery,
software and logistics going into
2014 and beyond.
Members of leading support
organisation upbeat for 2014
A leading installer support
organisation says its members
are significantly more upbeat
about 2014, than they were
about 2013 - this time last
year.
At the end of each calendar
year The Consumer Protection
Association (CPA) reaches out
to its members in order to get
feedback about the state of the
market and how confident they
are feeling for the year ahead.

Regulated by the Financial
Conduct Authority (FCA), the
CPA provides insurance backed
guarantees (IBGs) and deposit
protection to installers carrying
out home improvements and
also provides its members with a
host of beneficial schemes such
as marketing support; training
seminars; sales presentation
advice and quarterly assessment
reports. Jeremy Brett, Director of
the CPA, says the outlook of his
members is in tune with the more
upbeat feelings surrounding the
UK economy.
He comments: “Installers are
winning more business and at
higher order values; and they
expect this to continue in 2014.
“Next year is poised to be a
pivotal one and all the signs tell
us the construction sector and
economy at large will improve.
Schemes such as Help to Buy
seem to be having an impact and
a feel-good factor is returning to
the home improvement market.”
