Teaming up for
telemarketing
success
Major trade fabricator Emplas is
the latest name in the industry
to reap the rewards of Insight
Data’s telemarketing service.
The company carried out
two telesales campaigns as
a follow on from a direct
mail flyer, with the aim of
identifying hot prospects that
were ready to be converted
into customers.
Insight’s telemarketing team
called installers to line up hot
leads and appointments for
the Emplas sales team and
encouraged installers to email
or fax through for quotes.
Installers satisfied with their
current supplier were asked
what a new supplier would
have to offer in order for them
to consider a change, with
part of the strategy to position
Emplas in ‘the waiting room’
should suppliers let them down
in the future.
In total, 51% of companies
requested further information,
agreed to fax/email through
a quote, or confirmed an
appointment.

was extremely impressed with
the results: “Using Insight’s
telesales service created a buzz
about our products, and the
quality of the leads generated
was excellent. We also gained

GETTING CREATIVE
WITH NORWICH
ARTS BUILDING
The new £4.6m creative arts
building for Norwich City
College features stunning
mirror-polished stainless steelfaced panels from architectural
panel manufacturer Panel
Systems.
Over 100m2 of stainless steel
faced panels were supplied by
Panel Systems to create a striking
Western façade to this BREEAM
Excellent rated building. The
panels were specified by architects
BDP, working in partnership
with main contractor Graham
Construction.
Each panel was insulated with
Styrofoam extruded polystyrene
to achieve a U-Value of 0.87
W/m2K in order to enhance
the thermal performance of the
new building. Panel Systems
hot-wire cut the Styrofoam to a
fine tolerance to ensure a good
standard of flatness within the
panel. The panels were then
fitted into the contractor’s
glazing system to ensure speedy
installation on site.
Wayne Head, Architect Director
at BDP in London, said: “The
mirror-polished stainless steel
faced panels were specified for
their aesthetics on the West face
of the building. Not only do
they look great, but they work
collaboratively with Brise Soleil
and the aluminium window
frames to help to reduce heat gain
in the building in summer and
reduce reliance on mechanical
heating and cooling.”
TREND SETTING STATS
With Kömmerling arguably one of the fastest
growing systems companies in the UK at
present, its 2013 sales statistics show some
interesting trends as to the direction both the
German systems giant and indeed the market
as a whole are heading.
Sales in 2013 for Kömmerling were up 25%
on the previous year, the clearest indication yet
that the market for premium window and door
systems is buoyant. Products such as the Lift
and Slide PremiDoor that is capable of spans of
up to 6 metres with just two sashes and its KBE
System 88, which easily meets the standards
laid down by Passivhaus demonstrating a
premium engineering and design philosophy.

Yet its highly impressive and energy efficient
C70 and O70 Gold® window and door systems
have been its volume sellers and interestingly
there is a near 50:50 split between the
chamfered and ovolo designs. The company
is also looking forward to announcing further
new pan-European product developments at
Fensterbau 26-29th March in Nuremburg,
Germany with a huge stand and the launch
of a new colour concept among other
developments.
