» FOUNDED IN 1976 AS FORD GLASS and Glazing, Ford Windows has grown into one of the UK’ s leading suppliers and installers of PVC and aluminium windows and doors for the new-build housing market. Now working with major developers including Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Taylor Wimpey, the company is marking its 50th anniversary with continued investment and plans for further growth.
Under Managing Director Philip Shackley, Ford Windows has expanded its manufacturing footprint, with facilities in Blantyre, Sheffield and, most recently, Rugby, Warwickshire. The latest addition strengthens its national reach, improving service and flexibility for customers despite ongoing economic pressures across construction.
Central to the company’ s success is its end-to-end approach, taking responsibility from initial order through to installation and aftercare. This commitment has helped secure sole supplier status with major developers in several UK regions, built on consistent delivery, product quality and dependable service.
“ We supply and fit windows, but our ethos is about providing a full end-to-end service,” says Philip.“ If anything is not right, it’ s down to us.”
Product development remains a priority as regulations and customer expectations evolve. Working with long-standing supplier Regency Glass, Ford Windows is preparing for wider demand for advanced triple glazing that improves thermal performance without the weight traditionally associated with triple-glazed units. The company is also expanding its aluminium offering as the product gains traction in residential developments.
Philip also credits long-term partnerships with Eurocell Profiles and Total Hardware for the company’ s continued success.
Alongside investment in facilities and products, Ford Windows is embracing digital systems and artificial intelligence to modernise operations. Philip’ s sons, Wesley and Courtney, are already playing key roles in the business- driving it forward; helping introduce new technology while preserving its established family culture.
As Ford Windows enters its next chapter, its focus remains on combining innovation with the reliability that has underpinned five decades of growth.
“ I say to my boys all the time: let’ s not be a follower, let’ s be a leader,” Philip concludes.
