Everglade Windows evolves its aïr 400SS Plus Aluminium Minimal Frame Sliding Door
» EVERGLADE WINDOWS HAS introduced a series of enhancements to its flagship aïr 400SS Plus Aluminium Minimal Frame Sliding Door, delivering improved thermal performance and new installation features that make the system even more attractive for installers and specifiers.
Available from early August, the latest evolution of the aïr 400SS has been developed in response to changing Building Regulations while retaining the slim sightlines, premium design and proven performance that have made the aïr range a popular choice for residential and commercial projects alike.
Among the key upgrades is an improved polyamide thermal break, helping the system achieve U-values of 1.4 W / m ² K with a 1.0 W / m ² K double-glazed unit and 1.2 W / m ² K with a 0.7 W / m ² K triple-glazed unit.
Everglade Windows has also introduced an optional integrated upstand, allowing the finished floor level to meet the top of the outer frame, creating a seamless, flush finish.
Installation has also been simplified through the introduction of quick-glaze pre-gasketed beads for 28mm glazed units, helping installers complete projects more
efficiently while maintaining the premium finish expected from the aïr range.
Bhavik Dabasia, Technical Director at Everglade Windows, commented:“ The aïr 400SS Plus Aluminium Minimal Frame Sliding Door has always been recognised for combining contemporary design with high performance. These latest enhancements ensure the system continues to meet the evolving demands of the market while making installation easier and delivering even better thermal performance.
“ Rather than reinventing an already successful product, we’ ve focused on meaningful improvements that benefit both installers and homeowners. The result is a sliding door system that remains true to the original concept, while offering greater specification flexibility and helping our customers stay ahead of changing regulations.”

Glass-to-glass corner glazing to a home in Padstow
» CROSS STREET, A coastal home in Padstow, has been extended with a contemporary two-storey addition defined by glassto-glass corner glazing from IQ Glass. The new extension forms a light-filled living space across both levels, using structural glazing to establish a strong visual connection to the surrounding landscape while creating a clean, unified elevation.
IQ Glass designed and installed fixed Invisio ® structural glazing that turns through an internal corner at ground and first-floor level, forming a continuous glazed edge without the need for a corner mullion. By coordinating the glazing in front of the floor slab and steelwork, the structural elements are visually concealed, allowing the glassto-glass junction to remain the defining architectural feature.
Aluminium opening elements are integrated within the façade, including a top-hung casement vent and a ground-floor open-out door, providing ventilation and access without interrupting the minimal aesthetic. A marinegrade finish to the exposed aluminium ensures durability in the coastal setting, delivering a high-performance glazing solution that balances technical precision with contemporary design.
