25 Years Strong: Winkhaus and SBD in Partnership to Design Out Crime
Winkhaus UK is marking 25 years in partnership with Secured by Design( SBD), the official police security initiative. As one of the original companies to join in 1999, Winkhaus has consistently demonstrated its commitment to designing and delivering high-quality, crime-prevention hardware that meets the rigorous SBD standards.
» WORKING CLOSELY FROM THE outset with the SBD team, including Jon Cole, Winkhaus has helped shape the development of secure door and window systems in the UK. Testing is carried out in Winkhaus’ UKAS accredited laboratory, and the technical team regularly supports industry compliance, often being among the first to implement new legislation.
A wide range of Winkhaus products have achieved Police Preferred Specification status, spanning door locking systems, window fitting systems, and the company’ s expansive scope of fire, smoke and security doorsets. These include the full range of Winkhaus multipoint door locking solutions including the market leading autolock AV4, XR6 range of cylinders and 2-star cylinder protection, activPilot window fitting system, and its 3rd party accredited internal and external, timber and composite fire doorsets.
