FROM THE EDITOR

Our Big Commercial Break

They say there’ s no rest for the wicked, and we’ ve certainly been busy bees here at Clearview HQ this month. Alongside Clearview, Pro Installer and The Locksmith Journal, we’ ve been working hard on something completely new, our first-ever Door Industry Journal Summer 2025 issue.
» TAKING ON DIJ MARKS A MAJOR MILEstone for us. It’ s our big commercial break into the broader commercial and industrial sector. With this latest addition, our portfolio now spans the full spectrum of the industry, from letter plates to garage doors, windows to shutters, access control to roof lanterns. We’ ve built something comprehensive, and that’ s no small feat.
From a business perspective, expanding into this space gives us the chance to offer more to our customers, explore fresh markets, and connect with new prospects. But beyond the strategic benefits, what’ s really stood out to me personally is the value of stepping into the unknown and learning from others along the way. Taking over from Derek, the long-standing editor of DIJ, gave me a unique opportunity to merge the old with the new. Adopting some of his approaches while layering in my own methods has been a refreshing challenge. And as someone who often works solo, it’ s been a reminder of just how important it is to stay open to new perspectives and ways of working.
It’ s easy in any role or industry to become comfortable; to stick with what you know because it works. But true progress comes when you allow yourself to be influenced by others, take risks on new ventures, and remain open to change. That’ s just as true in publishing as it is across the fenestration and wider construction sectors.
Our commercial expansion into DIJ hasn’ t exactly felt like a“ break”, and in fact, it’ s been flat out! But we wouldn’ t have it any other way. Meeting new people, entering new markets, and learning as we go is what keeps us growing. We’ re proud of how far we’ ve come; and even more excited about what’ s yet to come.
See you next time, Gemma
