UK distributor signs for BIGG deal

Apeer Doors, the Ballymena based door manufacturer, and Blinds in Glass Group( BIGG), the fast-growing specialist for integral blinds, have signed an agreement to facilitate the distribution of Apeer’ s wide range of high performing composite doors to window companies across England and Wales.
» BIGG MANAGING DIRECTOR, IAN Woolley, had long been conscious of the need for a more flexible and versatile range of entrance doors that could provide added value to his customers while responding to the increasing demands for more colours, better thermal efficiencies and overall improved quality of looks and performance. Ian said:“ For a competitive price, our customers will be able to sell a beautiful door that is superior in terms of U-values, range of colours, skin and hardware options. Add to this the fact that Apeer has significantly overdelivered in terms of marketing support, brochures and swatches, we believe we can establish a lucrative profit opportunity for our customer base.”

JOINING FORCES TO EXPAND INTO WALES

» GERDA DOORS UK DISTRIBUTOR Pioneer Trading Company and Carmarthenshire based Sapphire Windows have joined forces to start installing the Gerda steel and aluminium door range into homes across south Wales.
Sapphire Windows was established in 1989 with the premise of providing quality window and door installations at affordable prices, superb engineering, outstanding security and a reassuring‘ THUNK’ when closing, underlining that premium feel.
Sapphire director Shaun Matthews said:“ In terms of features, it sells itself – the nine bolt security, the impressive U-values, its strength and solidity – anyone who comes into the showroom specifically to take a look are immediately impressed by its performance and functionality. It’ s a much needed addition to our existing range of front door offerings.”
Sapphire Windows currently has a Gerda door installed in its Ammanford showroom and will be installing a second in its soon to be open showroom in Milford Haven. The company is noticing a definite shift in interest from PVCu to aluminium and sees the addition of Gerda as a key element of its plans for future growth.
“ The importance of a showroom setting for the Gerda door cannot be understated,” added Pioneer Gerda’ s managing director Danny Williams.“ While the drive for online sales of cheaper doors can seem quicker and easier, it can end up costing more in remedial visits for the installer. Buying a Gerda becomes an experience for the homeowner, with a visit to the showroom, hands on appreciation of the smooth and sleek heaviness of the door, which feeds into the overall understanding of the door’ s superiority to its composite competitors.”
