Testing And Training Manager‘ Emphasises Renewed Focus’
» DARREN BURFORD HAS BEEN promoted to head up testing and training at AluK, in a move which emphasises the company’ s renewed focus on the package of support it offers to customers as standard.
In his expanded role, Darren is relaunching the AluK Training Academy with a raft of new courses covering everything from product knowledge to fabrication techniques and installation best practice. He is also promoting the option of on-site training at customer premises,
with AluK’ s dedicated team of experts delivering practical, hands-on sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer.
In addition, Darren is also now overseeing all testing requirements for AluK’ s new product lines, bringing the testing scope up to date and ensuring that all new products don’ t just meet but exceed the highest standards of performance, durability, and safety.
AluK is one of the only aluminium systems companies in the UK to have its
own testing facility and Darren will be reviewing all of AluK’ s testing protocols and procedures to guarantee that they are continuously aligned with evolving UK standards.

Promotion for David Loughran
» KEYLITE ROOF WINDOWS( Keylite), part of The Keystone Group, has promoted long-standing Technical Team Leader, David Loughran to Technical Manager for the UK and Ireland.
David has been a key part of Keylite’ s technical team for 11 years, bringing extensive expertise in roof window manufacturing and construction. In his new role, David will lead the continuous development of Keylite’ s product range, ensuring compliance with evolving Building Regulations and introducing innovative solutions tailored to housebuilders’ needs.
Working closely with the Keylite sales team, David will focus on supporting national and regional housebuilders in meeting the requirements of the Future Homes Standard( FHS).
David first joined Keylite through an industrial placement while completing his university degree. Reflecting on his journey, he said:“ I’ ve been fortunate to gain invaluable experience at Keylite, from completing a 12-month management training course to representing our technical team at key industry events.
“ I’ m excited to take on this new role and continue working with our talented team to develop products that help housebuilders navigate the challenges of FHS.”

Leadership appointments strengthen and streamline operations
» HKC, A LEADING MANUFACTURER of intruder alarm solutions across the UK and Ireland, has further strengthened its operations with two key leadership appointments.
Pille Murgelkj, Head of Buying, has over 15 years’ experience within the electronics supply chain, having previously held management roles with an international electronics manufacturing company. She was also a consultant to a fast-growing supply chain start-up, helping to grow the business in a very dynamic environment.
Her new role will see Pille enhancing procurement and demand planning processes within the HKC supply chain, while optimising inventory levels and managing costs in-line with the wider ASSA ABLOY Group strategy.
Ian Moore, Head of Technical, boasts over 25 years’ experience in the security industry, and initially joined HKC in 2009 within the technical support team assisting installers. He progressed to Technical Support Team Leader, then Product Manager, where he helped shape new

product ranges. Most recently, he supported the development of HKC’ s 4G-WiFi Communicator, launched in February 2025.
Ian will manage HKC’ s technical operations, and will also be managing communication to ensure HKC continues to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions for professional installers.
