FROM THE EDITOR

Calculating ‘ You ’ Values

Since our last magazine , I ’ ve had the pleasure of attending several meetings and events , where one thing has stood out . Putting ‘ number one ’ first and looking after the individual is vital to our collective success . Much like U-values that determine energy efficiency , ‘ you ’ values measure how well we function within fenestration .
» A WORKPLACE CULTURE THAT PRIORITISES THE MENTAL , physical , and emotional health of its people creates an environment where creativity , productivity , and collaboration can thrive . You ’ ll see plenty of that across the pages of this issue , where brands and businesses are placing as much value in the quality of their people , as their products . In fact , the two qualities are interlinked .
But we must remember , we can ’ t care for others if we ’ re neglecting our own wellbeing . Looking after ourselves is just as essential as looking after those around us . This is the message of Richard Abrahams , a speaker at last year ’ s Glazing Summit and CAB ’ s members event I recently attended . Anyone who was lucky enough to hear ones of Richard ’ s talks – or if you ’ ve met him in person – will know how enthusiastic he is about looking after ourselves , and looking out for each other . Anyone who hasn ’ t yet , will be pleased to hear , we are working with Richard on a series of mental health articles and the psychology of sales .
As we look ahead , it ’ s clear that people are at the heart of our collective progress . A crucial part of ensuring this future is sustaining and attracting new talent to the fenestration industry . We must not only retain the skilled professionals who drive our success but also create an environment where the next generation feels welcomed , supported , and inspired . By offering mentorship , career development opportunities , and a strong sense of purpose within the industry , we can bridge the gap and ensure that fenestration remains a thriving , dynamic field for years to come .
At Clearview , we always try to champion the people behind the products . This issue celebrates the contributions of those shaping our industry ’ s past , present and future – through internal initiatives , customer support , major events ( our second FIT Show preview of 2025 is shaping up nicely ) and our regular movers and shakers to name just a few features .
All of which remind us all : when we invest in people , we invest in the future of fenestration .
See you next time , Gemma
