Modern meets classic in barn renovation
Northern Trade Windows teamed up with Kip & Nook on a bespoke renovation of a classic car garage . NTW fabricated and fitted a 3m tall triple track sliding door by Exlabesa to replace a large barn door .
» NESTLED IN THE FOREST , JUST outside Darlington , Kip & Nook is a hideaway in North Yorkshire with accommodation ranging from camping pitches with hot tubs and refurbished containers to a cabin , den , loft and barn ; sleeping up to eight people . The luxury location as has a bar and eatery , sauna and ice bath , plus other activities built into and around the rural landscape .
NTW ’ s MD Elliot Cosgrove was staying at Kip & Nook with his family and started talking to the owner Ben , who said he was renovating his classic car garage . Elliot says : “ This was a truly bespoke job , considering sliding doors usually have a height of around 2.1m and this was a 3m tall opening for an original barn door . The end result is amazing and complements the style of Kip & Nook perfectly ; a mix of natural and modern with a glimpse of Ben ’ s classic car collection .”

The Tental curtain walling system is a high-performance , thermally-broken solution with slim sightlines and exceptional thermal performance and available with 50mm or 60mm wide aluminium profiles , offering superior performance and design flexibility .

Technal UK ’ s ( Hydro Building Systems ) products are made using high quality 75 % recycled aluminium profiles which lowers CO2 emissions by up to 85 %.
