Machinery & Manufacturing

Continuing to strive for excellence with new machinery investment

» FABRICATOR OF THE Year , Everglade Windows , has further made its mark as pioneers for excellence by investing in the Emmegi Quadra L2 , which is set to drive even greater production efficiencies while still delivering high-quality products to its customers .
After its double win at this year ’ s G Awards , Everglade Windows will see the delivery of the new 18-axis CNC machinery centre to its 65,000 sq . ft . manufacturing facility in Perivale , West London .
The machine , which has the capability to mill , drill and cut aluminium profiles up to 7.5 metres in length ,
has been acquired to meet the demand of its award-winning aluminium products , including the aïr 180XLS Lift & Slide Door , aïr 900 Bi-Fold Door and the aïr MOD Series Windows and Doors , and deliver unique design specifications to its customers .
Yogesh Gopal , Director at Everglade Windows , discusses the company ’ s latest investment , saying : “ This new piece of machinery is a massive step forward for us , in terms of our production capabilities and overall efficiency . The Emmegi Quadra L2 offers a far more automated system , helping create a quicker and more seamless fabrication process for
our products . This will take the physical toll off our team and help them spend more time on ensuring that each and every product that leaves our factory is of the highest quality .”
Jay Patel , Everglade Window ’ s Director , also says of the new Emmegi Quadra L2 : “ This investment is just another example of our commitment to excellence . We are continuously striving to better our offering to customers , and
with our eight new product launches earlier this year , we needed to ensure that we had the best capabilities available to deliver them . We have spent the last 43 years re-investing in the business to ensure our customers receive only the best products and service , and this latest investment is just another example of that .”

Proven Steel Machining Option

» EMMEGI ( UK )’ S PROVEN track record supplying machines for steel fabrication is what gave architectural and industrial door specialist Design & Supply all the reassurance they needed to invest in a Phantomatic T3 Star machining centre .
Design & Supply manufactures acoustic , fire and security steel doors for trade , commercial and industrial applications . The Merthyr Tydfil based fabricator has replaced a mix of manual milling and drilling machines with the Emmegi 4-axis Phantomatic , having seen the CNC machine in action both in Germany at one of its steel profile partners and at a similar sized UK based steel door fabricator .
Scott Davies , Design & Supply ’ s Director , said he and his team did a good deal of research into the CNCs available , and it was only
Emmegi ( UK ) which could so easily prove that its CNCs had the strength and durability to cope with the very different demands of steel profiles over the more typical aluminium .
He explained : “ From the initial enquiry all the way to the final installation , Emmegi ( UK ) filled us with confidence that they were the right choice for this investment . The other users we spoke to were very positive about the machine ’ s capabilities and the potential ROI . We also liked the fact that it could so easily be linked with our LogiKal processing software .
“ The biggest drivers behind the machinery investment were the need to expand capacity and optimise efficiency , and we have really appreciated the input from the Emmegi ( UK ) team . They have helped us with everything from how to manage cutting lists to how to utilise Emmegi ’ s own CAMPlus 3D software , and have provided really useful ongoing training .”
The Phantomatic T3 Star can machine from any angle from -90 ° to + 90 ° and on steel sections up to 3mm . It comes with automatically positioned clamps and has been supplied to Design & Supply with a 4 piece tool magazine . The company now plans to add Emmegi ’ s specialist Twin Ferro steel saw to run alongside the Phantomatic T3 Star and automate its production still further .
