Annual Predictions of information needed to demonstrate competence . With tighter regulations for buildings above 18 metres , curtain walling and window systems for high-rise projects will need to be specified at the design stage – and need to demonstrate that they do not contain combustible material .
Reynaers welcomes this tightening up of standards - the company is committed to manufacturing quality products , backed by robust testing to demonstrate performance , supported by easily accessible product information to clearly evidence accountability .
Reynaers ’ products can be specified with confidence throughout the gateway scheme with accountability clearly evidenced .
Digitalisation
Digitalisation will continue to be a major focus across the sector . Reynaers has invested heavily into its digital capabilities and has a range of new digital solutions due to be launched throughout 2024 . Digital passports , a new digital document portal , enhancements to our BIM offering , and an embodied carbon calculator , are just a few . In 2024 , we will also see the launch of our new Digitrace system – which allows quick and easy access to product information via a QR code .
In addition , we have a comprehensive customer portal giving access to a wide range of digital resources , and an electronic ordering system . The portal gives customers access to product information , calculation tools , visualisation and design tools , training and support information , marketing assets , orders and invoices , plus much more . This platform will also see continual development moving forward .
We aim to bring absolute clarity to product information , which will deliver the accountability needed for the golden thread and sustainable building design . Productspecific manuals will also be made available through our new digital document portal to support fabricators and installers to find information and instructions easily .
Supporting our customers is at the heart of Reynaers ’ ethos and throughout 2024 we will continue to work to raise awareness of incoming changes with the Future Homes Standard to make sure the information and products are available to meet that .

Energy efficiency windows in spotlight for year ahead

HOWARD TROTTER , BUSINESS MANAGER , SHELFORCE
» FIRE DOORS WILL continue to be a big player for us going into 2024 , but uPVC windows will really come to the fore .
We have seen the demand for more energy efficient windows rise across all archetypes and our order book is showing that this will continue to be a steep curve .
The recent announcement from the GGF that UK homes are the worst in Western Europe for heat loss , with 98 % of windows currently not meeting current building regulations , and some 80 million windows need to be replaced if the UK hopes to meet the government ’ s net zero targets , means energy efficiency will continue to be a big issue , not just for Local
Authorities but within private homes .
We posted a record turnover last year of just under £ 6million and thanks to fire doors and uPVC windows we are on track to hit a record turnover again , with conservative estimates at around £ 9million , and we are currently having conversations with other Local Authorities to see if we can supply them with fire doors and energy efficient windows .
We received the King ’ s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity ( through social mobility ) in April , which was a huge honour for everyone at Shelforce , and that has provided us with several exciting opportunities for 2024 too . So , 2024 is going to be busy for us , and should see more growth .
