Training Academy Shortlisted For Best Initiative

» UAP ’ S ‘ TRAINING Academy ’ is in the running to win the Training and Development Initiative of the Year at the G23 Awards , on Friday 24 November 2023 at the London Hilton on Park Lane .
Combining different strands , the Training Academy focuses on knowledge sharing , developing soft skills and collaboration to upskill , motivate and engage individuals . From weekly webinars
and mentoring through to in-house training courses and ‘ quality circles ’ a vast range of initiatives and tools are in place to achieve these aims .
Nicola John , Director at UAP , said : “ The Academy is driving innovation , efficiency and performance improvements across UAP .”
This is the third time in a row that UAP has been recognised at the G Awards . After being shortlisted in three categories in 2021 , UAP went on to be crowned Covid Business Hero of the year . In 2022 , UAP was named a finalist in the Sustainability Initiative of the Year category for its S . E . E . scheme , which goes above and beyond standard policies and accreditations such as ISO : 14001 .

Technical manager named on Rising Star shortlist

» JOE WARD JOINED SIEGENIA at the tender age of 17 as an apprentice and thanks to his talent and impressive work ethic was promoted to become head of SIEGENIA ’ s UK technical department at just 24 , making him one of , if not the , youngest people in such a role across the country .
SIEGENIA ’ s UK General Manager , Ryan Thompson , said , “ Joe ’ s diligence and enthusiasm to take on new projects is what has led to his steep rise through the ranks , and it is great to see his efforts recognised by the judging panel as we know that our partners and customers value Joe as much as we do .”
Joe ’ s role comes with a lot of responsibility . Yet despite the increased responsibility and workload he has continued to innovate to help strengthen the company ’ s customer service levels and grow the business by leading 75 hours ’ worth of new product training sessions with distributors in the last year which has resulted in increased engagement and new leads .

CHARITY GOLF DAY ‘ BEST BY PAR ’

» A GOLF DAY ORGANISED by the Automatic Door Suppliers Association ( ADSA ) turned out to be its ‘ best by par ’ raising approximately £ 3,500 for charity .
The event , at Branston Golf and Country Club , Staffordshire , saw 28 teams – made up from 34 of ADSA ’ s members – battling to take the top spot .
Winners of the ADSA Cup were SDG Access , of Lincoln , who were delighted with their achievement – one member was so thrilled that he stood on his chair to enjoy a moment of celebration when the winning team was announced . Runners-up were new ADSA member Hephaestus Solutions ( HSL ), who
played on home turf , based in nearby Burton upon Trent . And in third place , were last year ’ s champions , Copperjax Contract Maintenance , from Kent .
A raffle was held following dinner , with prizes including a round of golf at Enville Golf Course , a golf bag , a ‘ pub in a box ’, spirits , food hampers and gift vouchers .
All funds raised are being donated to ADSA ’ s chosen charities :
• Golf Fanatics – a charity that provides mobility equipment to young people
• Lighthouse Construction Charity
• Changes , Tamworth
