Second charity golf day a massive hit
Bands and music artists often talk about that ‘ difficult second album ’ so after Clearview and Pro Installer ’ s debut charity golf year raised more than £ 12,000 last year , the pressure was on to deliver another successful event . Thanks to all sponsors , players and donors , we are pleased to announce 2023 ’ s outing at Hickleton Golf Club was a smash hit – with the weather and the fundraising efforts leaving all involved walking on sunshine .
Steve Sidebottom , Clearview director ( and compere beyond compare ) commented : “ This year ’ s golf day was again a resounding success . It ’ s a firm date in our calendar going forward .
“ I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Clearview staff who attended and helped , more than 70 golfers who took time out to join us , our generous sponsors for the brilliant auction prizes which helped our fundraising efforts , and Chigwell Window Centre ; the main sponsors for the event for the second year running .”
The day began with registration and a hearty breakfast of bacon butties , tea and coffee ( and a few pints pulled ) to get everyone ready for the shotgun start . As buggies revved and starting tees were found , excitement was certainly mounting . The inaugural event was marred with some mizzle but this year the sun was shining all day , even if the wind picked up in certain areas . The players were ready , the suspense was building , and with a table of trophies lying in wait at the 19th , as the siren sounded , the day began …
