Pulling power : emerging trends in 2023

The choice of door hardware has expanded greatly over recent years from one-off pieces to a full set of matching hardware . Minimalist door design
Early indications indicate that 2023 will also see a big demand for pull handles . According to HOPPE ( UK )’ s own data , there is an overwhelming trend for the 1200mm fixing distance option which accounts for almost half of all pillar fix handle orders to date . These types of handle can be perfectly paired with full-length glazing panels to create clean , simple lines in keeping with a more modern door design .
There are five variations of pull handles included in the ARRONE residential range providing the perfect contemporary twist for any home . The AR3626 entrance door pull handle comes in three different fixing distance options - 600mm , 1200mm and 1800mm - and , depending on the fixing distance , bolt fix or back-to-back fixing options to suit timber doors are available . The elegant pillar fix design comes in a satin stainless steel finish which is sure to complete the look .
Statement doors
Standard pull handles account for more than half of all orders within the wider pull handle range from ARRONE but there is also the offering of cranked and outer half-cranked versions .
Cranked handles , also known as offset handles , are shaped so that the part of the handle that is grabbed bends away from the door . This helps to avoid clashing with the frame or , on double doors , other handles . It can also be more practical allowing easier access to the cylinder for locking . From an aesthetic perspective , these types of handle look particularly striking on French doors , creating a symmetrical design feature .
HOPPE has found that a popular choice is a cranked handle in a 600mm fixing distance option with over 94 % of orders within the cranked range being fixed to a timber door . Cranked handles will also suit fixing to glass doors which suits an interior application .
Matching door furniture
Coordinated door hardware is always a popular choice for a classic finish . The suited residential door hardware collection from ARRONE has been designed to have mass appeal and provide high-quality ironmongery in a variety of finishes . The AR7550 lever handle has a 10.7mm backplate depth , so design changes to the door itself should not be needed if switching to the ARRONE handle from an alternative product .
Standardising the size of the back plate has been an important consideration with the long backplate fixing designed to cover the majority of lock applications .
Quality is synonymous with HOPPE brands because its products are tested to ensure flawless operation . These tests closely reflect the everyday knocks hardware has to take and extend beyond the requirements of performance standards such as BS EN 1906 .
The ARRONE AR7550 handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles and has a 10-year mechanical operation guarantee , as long as assembly and maintenance guidelines are followed . It has also achieved the highest corrosion resistance grade under BS EN 1670 making it suitable for use in exposed marine atmospheres .
