ROOFLIGHT OPPORTUNITIES FOR FABRICATORS

Having made a big splash as a first-time exhibitor at the FIT Show in May , rooflighting specialist Whitesales is keen to reinforce the message that , if you choose the right supplier , rooflights and lanterns represent a significant new business opportunity for fabricators .

Marketing Director Sioned Yates said : “ With the market for mainstream products getting tougher , fabricators are understandably looking for new ways to boost sales through diversification – and lanterns and rooflights are an obvious option . If you ’ re supplying the doors and windows for a new build or an extension , why miss out on the glazing for the roof ?

“ The sector has seen very healthy growth in recent years as homeowners , commercial specifiers and facilities managers in places like schools , hospitals and leisure centres increasingly recognise the importance of daylight to wellbeing .
“ Product options go way beyond standard lantern roofs and include fixed and electric opening flat roof lights for homes and commercial properties , and linked roof glazing for spectacular expanses of light and sky – and they all come with the potential for strong margins .
“ Up until now , fabricators might just have been buying lanterns from one of the established names in fenestration . But , with Whitesales entering this market , they have the chance to buy a complete range of rooflight options from a single specialist supplier – boosting their sales opportunities , and safe in the knowledge that we won ’ t at the same time be competing with them on windows and doors .”
The Whitesales range includes the brand new Skyvu lantern launched at FIT – a stylish and contemporary option with slim sightlines and a simple 30-40 minute assembly . It is available direct from stock in six standard sizes and three colours ( grey , grey / white and black ) and can be delivered with the frame and the glass packaged together in just three to five working days .
There is also the em . glaze range of non-fragile flat rooflights , designed to look as good from above as they do from below and tested to CWCT
Class 1 as standard . Again , there is a wide range of sizes available from stock and both fixed light and electric opening options . Crucially , the em . glaze products now come with a proprietary sloping timber kerb if required , which makes it easy for installers to satisfy the requirements of the new Part L without having to worry about building their own 0.35 U-Value timber kerb on site .
Completing the core line up is the Whitesales linked glazing products which use interlocking glass panels to create spectacular roof openings , in both domestic and commercial settings .
Anyone who visited the Whitesales stand at FIT Show to see the product range can ’ t have failed to notice though that the stand was themed around an exclusive member ’ s club , with a relaxed atmosphere and impeccable service .
That was all part of the strategy to showcase what makes partnering with Whitesales on rooflight
products so special . Sioned added : “ We ’ re a family-owned business , with a very proud 30-year history , exclusively in rooflights . We believe in providing old-fashioned customer service , combined with the very latest operational and logistics efficiencies .
“ Place an order with Whitesales and you can call our highly trained team to get as much help and advice as you need , or you configure your own rooflight online using RUFUS our digital design and specification tool . You can relax knowing we hold vast quantities of stock , and you can even get some products delivered next day .
“ We want fabricators who partner with Whitesales to feel part of our club . We are very easy to do business with and that helps our customers to build and crucially retain strong margins . As we say in our marketing – we go above .”
