INTEGRAL APPROACH TO SHADING FLAT GLASS ROOFLIGHTS
Flat glass rooflights have become a popular choice for home extensions and refurbishment projects due to how well they introduce plenty of natural light into what may otherwise be gloomy spaces .
Just as with any other type of window or door , however , there will be times when we want to close out the light , perhaps to shade the room from strong sunshine , as well as enjoy some privacy . Developed in response to growing demand from installers , the new Uni- Blinds ® integral blind for flat glass roof windows is as sleek as every other option in the range . The pleated blackout blind is fully encapsulated within a double glazed unit , which is opened and closed by remote control or a wall mounted hard-wired control unit .
Superior performance with a choice of colours
The high quality fabric used in the rooflight blind eliminates external light extremely effectively , even from the strongest sunlight , to offer blackout performance . It is available in eight colours , including the creamy Alabaster and Cocoa , plus various greys from the light Grey Sheen and Dove to Anthracite . This provides options for the blind to coordinate well with most interior décor schemes , and on the exterior the blind is always white .
The Uni-Blinds ® pleated blackout rooflight blind is available for horizontal , fixed roof windows sized up to 1000mm by 1500mm , with the smallest size possible being 300mm by 300mm . It can be fitted instead of standard glass units in rooflight systems from all the leading manufacturers and is easy to fit with some straightforward guidance from Morley Glass .
Morley Glass also provides several glass options for the rooflight integral blind units . In addition to offering superior thermal performance , a glass specification is available to deliver superior solar control to help manage the risk of excessive solar gain on days when the sunshine is strong . This ensures daylight levels can be maintained without the room becoming uncomfortably warm .

As with all Uni-Blinds ® products , the new rooflight blind is manufactured in the UK using premium quality ScreenLine ® integral blind systems from Italian company Pellini S . p . A . These world-class systems perform impeccably over a long lifespan , with the colour retention of the blind fabric second to none , and operational reliability guaranteed for five years . And there are number of additional factors that differentiate Uni-Blinds ® from any other type of integral blind . Most notably , every unit is made using warm edge spacer bars . These are not commonly used in integral blinds , but Morley Glass uses them as standard because they help maximise the thermal performance of the blinds-in-glass unit , and the glass is heat-soaked toughened for total peace of mind .
Every sealed unit is also dual sealed . This process further helps to maintain excellent thermal performance , but it also improves gas retention within the unit and prevents the risk of slippage .
