The Production Supervisor has worked at Shelforce for 15 years and plays a key role at the Birmingham-based company , which specialises in providing high-quality PVCu windows and Fire doors to local authority building projects .
Maxine has a team of 28 under her on the factory floor and her responsibility is the production and dispatch of all the products Shelforce manufacture . But what sets her apart is how she goes above and beyond in her role .

Maxine manages and communicates with employees who have different needs , and she also supports the workforce outside of the factory in their daily lives .

INDUSTRY HELPS SMASH FUNDRAISING TARGET

» A TEAM MEMBER FROM CDW Systems has raised more than £ 3,000 for charity thanks to the support of the fenestration industry .
Liam Smith , an order processor at the specialist aluminium fabricator , wanted to raise as much money as possible for Leukaemia Care following the loss of his nan from a short battle with the cancer .
The 32-year-old beat his target of £ 2,500 by raising £ 3,023 in total and said : “ I ’ d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored ; a lot of people from the industry who I don ’ t know personally really got behind the cause which means a lot , and of
course the team here at CDW . “ To run in memory of my Nan and raise vital funds to help others in the future is all down to the people that supported me . I really couldn ’ t have done it without
them and it ’ s massive for Leukaemia Care .”
It ’ s the third time Liam has run the marathon , and he admitted that he had to go through the pain barrier this time round .
“ It was tough ; I had some issues with shin splints this
time , whereas I didn ’ t have injuries the previous times , and the weather wasn ’ t as good , so it was a real challenge . But the feeling you get at the end of the run is second to none , when the realisation hits of what you have achieved .”
Liam will receive a certificate of fundraising from Leukaemia Care with the team total and how it will help the charity , and CDW Systems Group Chairman Jeremy Phillips commented : “ Everyone at CDW would like to congratulate Liam on his tremendous achievement . To raise over £ 3,000 , while raising awareness of the work Leukaemia Care does , is brilliant .”
