Even the firm ’ s triangular ‘ Engineering Future Innovations ’ - themed stand is extraordinary , says Quickslide Marketing Manager Sandra Berg : “ Like many other companies early in 2022 we had missed seeing our customers but were uncertain if the country would be locked down again ,” she explained . “ But as last year ’ s FIT Show crept closer and the right space became available , we decided to take part at the last minute with a lounge-style stand that had more chairs than products on it , something that we would otherwise never have chosen to do - and it was a great success ! We saw dozens of our existing customers and signed many more , reassuring us that the Quickslide brand is important in itself .”

So , what does the Brighouse , Yorkshire-based fabricator want to introduce the world to this coming May ? As one of the UK ’ s leading specialists in replacement VS windows , new announcements were bound to be made for this

type of frame . These include a dual-coloured Legacy VS , plus a new Legacy feature that Sandra says is ‘ worth waiting for ’. And in a classic ‘ heritage meets hi-tech ’ exclusive feature , Quickslide will show traditional VS windows equipped with the latest AviaSmart secure sash window fastener , which allows homeowners to tell at a glance if their windows are open or closed via a smart phone app .

A new Heritage-themed aluminium door will also be launched together with a new aluminium window system , and AluSpace , interior doors and screens to satisfy the burgeoning market for stylish ‘ industrial ’ internal glazing treatments . AluSpace is particularly exciting says Sandra : “ Black framed ‘ industrial ’ style internal dividers and

doors have become incredibly popular in interior designs , specified by professional stylists originally and now increasingly chosen by homeowners directly .

“ This offers installers a huge opportunity to extend their product offer , as AluSpace can be installed using existing skill-sets and a product that perfectly complements the huge numbers of anthracite aluminium external windows now being installed .” Using the AluSpace system Quickslide will offer hinged single and double doors as well as fixed glazed screens , to provide a vast choice of design options , confirms Sandra .

The product expected to create the greatest interest however is Indi-fold , which will be seen for the first time at a trade event . The ‘ folding /

sliding ’ alternative to conventional bi-folding doors has always proved an instant sales success whenever it was presented to homeowners . Quickslide ’ s Indi-fold doors are made up of individual panels that slide independently along a fixed track , rather than conventional bi-folds with hinged panels that concertina to provide an opening . The advantage of Indi-fold is that once the hinged ‘ lead ’ panel is opened , each fully glazed panel can slide independently from the rest along the track , or stacked to provide a full , unobstructed opening .

But whilst this type of door has been available previously , consistency of supply has proved challenging , says Sandra . “ Indi-fold will bring dependability , trust and integrity to the supply of this type of garden door ,” she says . “ Improvements have been made to the design and manufactured quality compared with previous designs and , under the Quickslide brand , trust will be quickly re-established . Whenever people see and try this bi-fold alternative , they want to buy it ,” she says .
